i think that was his ceiling at draft day.
20 goal guy at best. But if he is indeed a hansen with more edge and physicality, thats the kinda guys u want in the playoffs.

he is def not and won't be bertuzzi. but just take a look at how long it took for bert to hit his stride.

Between Hansen/Krieder, I think Krieder plays a much heavier style and is not nearly as smart as Hansen, thats why I was thinking JV is closer to Krieder.

I do think JV has the ability to be 3rd line with a little offensive upside, whereas Krieder is definitely solidifying himself as 2nd line. Consistency will be an issue, thats why I was thinking at peak JV would be what Krieder is now

So, I wonder when all the screaming will start because JV isnt in the top 6? It was a huge issue before... miles of bandwidth wasted on it by people accusing WD of not playing him in his proper role...

I think the issue was top 9 and icetime back then. This is now. New talent like BB and Goldy will play up for that role. Plus Nucks got Granlund, Sven and Bo as top 6 to pry minutes away from the Sedins, LE and Sutter. JV gets the nod just to play a good NHL game this season. Let him progress that game and see if it merits top 6 in time.
