I don't think I can keep it anyhow.

Whatever in the grand scheme of things it's irrelevant.

Also in the small scheme of things.

I would have to believe so. He has been given multiple opportunities to fail and he has succeeded in doing so each and every time.

Bergevin was pretty harsh against him in his comments after the season. Don't think he's ever been that critical about a player.

Meanwhile Beaulieu said he had a great season...the guy is just really (frank)ing dumb.

The less Bergevin says the better.

Never seen a guy who sounds whiner and dumber than him except maybe for 3M

The thing is... sometimes Beaulieu is really great, sometimes he is truly crap. Rarely is he just down the middle OK /stable.

I settle for down the middle and call that success.

But I agree, he seems to have a disconnection between his own POV and what is actually going on.

Statistics wise it doesn't look that bad (30 pts, +8), but it's the stability in his game he's lacking. He has made brutal turnovers at times and I think that's why he sticks out like a sore thumb...but when you look at his stats he's no worse than Petry, and makes way, way less $$$.

i see no issue with keeling Beaulieu around as a third pairing guy for another year or two.

So you'd protect Beaulieu and probably lose Benn to the draft?

I feel like trading Beaulieu for X and protect Benn might be the best way to go.

If you can't trade Beaulieu... then yeah keep him.... just in case he gets hit on the head and somehow becomes a little smarter after the summer.

Jordie Benn was great until he turned into Jordie Benn in the playoffs.
