Except that 99 never had that kind of speed. McDavid is like Gretzky crossed with Paul Byron

It is a trick by the alt right to take standardized signals and co-opt them into their own meaning to make it look more people agree with their point of view than actually do...

It is like when they have those stupid... wear blue jeans day to support cancer. Everyone is probably wearing them anyways.

all signs point to it but i'm not so sure. this team has a severe shortage of high end talent. and that was true even before the PK trade. you can't just keep dumping your most talented players because they make your coaches or their teammates sad.
- DoubleDown

Once they traded PK for Weber and it does not get you much, I suspect the Habs will double down and ship out whatever they need to ship out to get more vet players and... character.

Galchenyuk, Beaulieu (like him or not) are most likely gone one way or another.

im trying to not be a cynic here... i think Bergevin recognizes the desperate need for talent. his job depends on it at this point. if one year from now the Habs are bounced in round 1 or 2 because they couldn't score 2 goals/game he's out of a job.

Thing is...you are not getting a better player for Galchenyuk...might as well keep him and see if Julien can help turn his game around...He was having a good start before his injury, never could get that level of play when he came back.

You'd have to expect he'd be traded for a player of similar talent/ potential.

I think he'll be here next season... but he needs to focus on hockey.

of course...but still...If PK wins it and he brings it to Montreal's Children Hospital this summer...we're not hearing the end of it soon.
- stinger67

Listen, as you know, I am and always have been in favor of the trade. But if he wains it (which I don't think will happen) and brings the Cup to the hospital for the kids to share in the celebration, I'd be ok with that. No matter what happens you won't hear the end of it.

I think they'll keep him.

Would be good if they could somehow get Jonathan Drouin though.

Which is why all signs point to throwing everything at getting any sort of offensive players in, but at what cost. This is potentially a Gainey-like moment with Gomez, Gionta, Cammy all waiting to happen again.

Don't disagree. But I can see them overpaying for a lesser talent because he is a true center...

I would have to believe so. He has been given multiple opportunities to fail and he has succeeded in doing so each and every time.
