The oil actually won in Anaheim. Not sure how they could feel the flames pain. When was the last time the flames outplayed Someone ? What year are you talking about? - leonkennedy

Already seeing how they dominated game 2 used as the narrative for BOTH games.
Or rather - "the series thus far"
Talbot saved our bacon last night no doubt. But they absolutely did not "deserve" the first game anymore than we did.
At best, they can whine that it should be 1-1. But Certainly not 2-0 ducks.
I want it to be known that Despite the fact that I detest all of these revisionist, hater, little whiny b1tches, I'll mostly let them feel safe in their bs safety blanket without debating too much. Cause fuk it- we're up 2-0 and they can't do sh1t about it
Well, isn't this just priceless. Ducks have outplayed the oil and are down 2-0. Oil have got all the lucky bounces. Ducks have been dominant and have nothing to show for. Now you feel Flames pain. QuackQuack, - Squilliam-
Game 2 sure. Asides from a few abbreviated spans the Ducks owned that game. Game 1? Guess you didn't watch it. They didn't out play the Oilers at all. Good teams find ways to win. The Oilers were relentlessly penalized vs the Sharts and hit a hundred posts. They found a way to win. Ditto here. Sometimes your goalie has to steal one.
So what was bigger for this team: drafting Jesus or signing Talbot? - TheTaoOfSemenko
Both - McJesus will be the best player in the league in short order, but with just an average goalie instead of Talbot the Oil may not be in the situation they are now.

I change my answer to this....this was more what I was trying to get to

With an average goalie the series would be 1-1 for sure. But good playoff teams have good goalies. Every team still playing has a good goalie.

-we traded for Talbot.
-McDavid is one of the best players in the world in only his second season.
-Talbot is our MVP in the playoffs. Without him we're already golfing.

With an average goalie I dont think we even make the playoffs let alone a 1-1 series tie

They gassed a 2-0 lead in game 1 last round and there was also that 7-0 anal raping.
Talbots had an amazing season but I just can't agree with people that think we wouldn't have made the playoffs. People still underestimate how smartly this team has been constructed. We likely would have been a wildcard bordering on bubble without him imo.

He was also a pending UFA. The signing was a lot more pivotal.

I have no issues with the team but I just feel Talbot doesnt get enough credit for the success we have this year...with all the talk about McDavid and Drai (and rightfully so we are lucky to have them) he gets lost in the shuffle at times....sure he has had some bad games but he has also stolen many games for us as well
I have really lost a lot of respect for the Ducks in just two short games. I understand that it's a playoff series but I get very annoyed with these players. They don't get aggressive until after the play stops or they try to get away with little cheap shots and smart ass remarks when the ref is not looking etc. Is the Kessler/Bieksa effect THAT contagious? or were these guys always like this? I know Perry has always been an agitator but I used to think it was kind of comical. Getzlaf I don't remember mouthing off and taking jabs when the linesman is in between. I mean, he's a giant! Take your licks you huge bald vag!
Whatever it is, I'll be happy to see these bums in the rearview mirror soon. Carlyle's over-focus on McDavid has almost lost this series before it started...and that just boils down to research and scouting. It seems the Ducks staff just didn't do the work. - JLO961
