Last time I checked forwards weren't eligible for the Norris which is what you wrote to begin with. Second I can care less what sports net says the guy is not a two way forward and anyone who thinks Tavares is a two way forward let alone legitimate selke candidate needs to actually watch him play not look at a Hero chart.

I've read the comments and I have an open question. Bailey is on the last year of his contract. What do you hope Snow will do with Bailey:

A) Expose him to the expansion draft.
B) Trade him over the summer.
C) Extend him. If so for what length and dollar amount?
D) Try to negotiate him down and dump him at the trade deadline.

I think the answer to that question is a better indication of Bailey's value to the team going forward.

Trade him if I can't extend him at a reasonable deal. He was better this year and would be good on 2nd preferably 3rd line with ho sang taking his spot. I guess you could expose him but he could get taken then you lose him for nothing and i think we are better off losing hickey and replacing him

What's a reasonable deal? That's crux of the thought experiment.

I hate to break it to you Islanders fans, Josh Bailey is good at hockey.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Sorry bud, u lost all credibility with that statement ......

Grade: F shouldnt be on 1st line and shouldnt have taken 8yrs to be productive, there's no defending Bailey on any sorts

The correct answer is A. There's no way for the Islanders to avoid losing a halfway decent player in the expansion draft. And no way should they trade draft picks to Vegas to keep this core together. It's not as if this core has won Cups together, or even made a deep run or two at the Cup. These guys didn't even make the playoffs this season. Mediocre forwards are more easily replaceable than mediocre, but serviceable d-men. At a salary of $3.3 million, Bailey is no bargain, and I would be happy to see Vegas take him.

All you have to do is watch JT for a little while to tell he is not close to being a Selke candidate. His own family would not think he should be in the running.

Nice Job Noel, very hard grade to give Josh on this blog, however totally accurate.
Josh is the last of the 3 Amigoes on this team that could never do anything right regardless. The other two Frans and KO let go this past off season became the all star representatives on their new teams and in usual fashion no credit was given to them.
Unlike FN and KO, Bailey (to the dismay of this thread)won't be going anywhere now that JT is running the team

So here are 2 comments that the rest of you will love on here.

Bailey has talent, and was in my opinion the most consistent player on the team this year.

The New Amigo who is becoming a replacement for KO is Brock Nelson. Three 20 goal seasons and he sucks

Fire away boys, I can handle it!

I already said it was the correct grade as it was for this year, and who's replacing his points and chemistry with jt?

I'm going to say that every player on the Islanders would be better defensive players if they played for a different coach with a more defensive structure and discipline.
The only coach (and system)JT has played for has been Crappy excluding the last half of the year where Doug Weight took over. I'm hoping that Weight will have a much better defensive system in place next year when he has time and opportunity to change things up.
I hate to bring this up again, but the Capitals are a prime example of a team taking a 180 degree turn with a new coach/system in place. OV was a defensive disaster before Trots took over in Washington.

I agree with this 7. Hopefully Weight hires some good coaches and they come up with a good D system. JT does have lazy tendencies in the D zone he needs to work on.

He's a total douche. During the last Caps game he was ranting about global warming. The first game in the second round against a rival and not one word about the game.

I don't want to get into any of that. I do have a question. What do you think would be fair contract extension for Bailey?

I don't think JT is lazy. I think he busts his ass 100 % no matter what zone he's in.

I think he does make undisciplined plays, (not the smart play) in all 3 zones and a lot of that comes from trying too hard and again those issues would be corrected team wide with a coach that doesn't accept that and also has a better defensive structure.
I think JT would be a much better player defensively with the right coach and structure as we saw his defensive ability and awareness in his PK play this year. When on the PK he concentrated on defense and made the simple play and he was very effective imho.

I read his blog a couple times and one of them was when IHM and Tanner were going at it. I think the guy is a total twat. Thinks he better than everyone else, smarter than anyone else and the truth is he's a dumb elitist douchebag. Not worth reading that shat.

Come on that's no fun

On a serious note Jimmy, exactly what he's getting 3.3 maybe 3.5 per for 5 years.

We went back and forth about Bailey a few weeks ago. Neither of our opinions have changed since then.

I still don't want Bailey on the team but I could live with those terms. I think he will be looking for at least $5 mil per and I think Snow will give it to him. Given he just had his best year I could see him asking for $6+ mil per.

5.5 for 5 years if he's on the team. 6 mil for 6 years if he hits UFA.

A Hawks fan went on there and said winning the cup makes you the best team not Corsi and Tanner responded most wins makes you the best team. the problem is it's the team with the most wins in the playoffs Tanner
