JT's numbers were slightly down this year. - JimmyP
Yes, which is why this top 6 line could be top 3 if JT steps up his game next year. |

It contradicts your argument the Bailey helped JT. |

I'm don't think so. For him to be effective he needs to be paired with two shoot first players. Bailey will always look to pass first (and second, and sometimes third). Besides if the Islanders iced a line with Bailey and Nelson I think Ses would explode. - JimmyP
The sentence right after the one you bolded said with the right guys, coaches and system. I'm not saying he can carry a line. He's not a sniper, he's a set-up man.
Come on Weight, put together a line of Nelson, Bailey and Strome. |

JT is multi-talented. As a center, he is a playmaker. But he can also shoot the puck with more accuracy than most wingers. So in that sense, Bailey is not a bad fit with him.
However, it's the rest of Bailey's game that is more concerning. While I saw some improvement this season, Bailey still shies away from contact more than most NHL players. There are times when a solid body check is called for, and Bailey only tries a poke check........and sometimes not even that. - JohnScammo
You mean when he had more hits than Patrick Kane this year. |

He creates balance for that line, not JT specifically. Somebody's gotta be feeding Lee and JT the puck. It's not Bailey's fault that JT didn't finish his opportunities like Lee. |

Ok I get we all think weight was kept for jt, but all the players liked him. Is this all speculation that they kept snow for jt? I don't believe it and I think this was fabricated here and now is spoken as if it's a fact. Where was it reported that they kept snow strictly for Tavares liking? I understand how one can cone to that conclusion, but at this point it's all speculation |

Careful where you step, kiddo. Kane's worst season was 55 points. And that was 47 games. |

Excellent comparison! A lot of us confuse Kane and Bailey, because they're both so talented. - JohnScammo

I don't think the only reason that Snow is still here because JT wants him. I think it's because the owners are a couple of gutless pukes and don't know what they're doing. |

Look at my recent comment. He said most NHL players don't shy away from hits. I simply pointed out another player. That's all. |

Yeah, but you're comparing Bailey to Kane. You can't just make that comment and not expect it to come off as a comparison. That's all I'm saying. |

That's why I highlighted the hits from your quote. Not everybody hits a lot. That's all.
Again, not comparing Bailey to Kane directly.

Hit and getting hit are different and I get what you're saying but Kane is a top 10 player and has won the Calder, Hart, art Ross, and conn smyth awards, if he's throwing hits all game then something is majorly wrong. |

You know that hits are a very subjective stat, right? Besides, I'll bet you can find lots of players with fewer "hits" than Bailey. That still won't impress me. I've watched Bailey for many, many years play a wimpy game. I said earlier that this past season he stepped up his physical play a bit. But that still doesn't make him someone that Vegas will take in the draft. But geez, would I love to be wrong! - JohnScammo
So, what two-way hockey player fills that void right off the bat in the first line then?[ |

Ok, trust me. I'm not disputing anything you just said there. So, with that being said, why does Bailey have to be throwing hits? |
