Size is the issue. when you get hemmed into your own zone like we do often . It is the board work . we are very small and forechecking teams kill us.

We do need speed and skill as well. but have HALL , Palmieri , Henrique , Quenneville ,Cammi , Bennett .None of these are very big.
Zacha , Mcleod and Bastian do have some size. \\WE NEED MORE>>

But you don't want to just get guys because they have size. If all they bring is size and very little else, then they should not be brought in.

Size isn't the issue, it's skill. Rasmussen has very poor production at even strength. Liljigren stunk this year is what happened.

Liljigren was sick for most the year.

Even when he played he wasn't very good though.

Palmieri 5'10" 185 lb
Cammalleri 5'9" 185 lb
Hall 6'1" 201 lb
Henrique 6' 195 lb
Quenneville 6'1" 205 lb
Bennett 6'2" 195 lb
Zacha 6'3" 213 lb
McLeod 6'2" 195 lb
Bastian 6'4" 219 lb

Hall, Quenneville, Bennett, McLeod, Henrique are all within a couple inches and in a 10 lb range. Pretty much average for NHL forwards. Only Cammalleri and Palmieri could be considered below average. Of the bunch Zacha and Bastian stand out as being on the larger size.

Prioritizing size is how we got in this mess. Look at the 2014 draft where we did exactly that. Thankfully Quenneville seems like he'll work out but I'll never forget that Lou and Conte had 3 chances to draft Brayden Point and they passed on him all 3 times.

I can't remember what he had, but it was something that the effects of it just don't go away. I think he'll be better next year after some actual rest.

He had mono - I don't think he fully recovered. If he drops whoever gets him will be happy.

Yeah, and you're right to point that out. It's easy to forget how long the effects of a virus like that can linger. I can definitely see him taking a step forward next year. However, I want more of a sure thing with this pick. Especially when you have Heiskanen and Makar as options, both of whom have had superb seasons. With Liljigren you have to figure out is it the Mono? Or is this a situation where he's just not developing like was originally projected? From all accounts he's a guy with a lot of tools; but if the mental side isn't there, it doesn't matter. And that's what he's apparently struggled with this season, he's made a ton of really bad decisions and people are questioning that part of his game.

Agree. I was just pointing g out that if be makes a big drop you might be getting good value. Personally I think if the Devs pick 5 or better they should go offense, and go D if they drop lower than 5. Hoping Shero can trade back into the first with all those picks as well.
