She went to Houghton College: which bills itself as a rigorous and engaging learning experience within a close-knit, highly relational Christian community

That doesn't feel like a gold digger to me.

Serious question: Does any team have two number one defensemen? Two guys who are considered elite and can play 25 mins against top competition, cant think of a pairing like that off the top.

This are some potential (Semi-realistic?) d-cores I would like to see next season.

Antipin-Risto
Mccabe-Vatanen
Campbell-Guhle
Faulk/Nelson

Alzner-Risto
Antipin-Bogosian
Mccabe-Guhle
Faulk/Nelson

Anitpin-Risto
Fowler-Bogosian
Mccabe-Guhle
Faulk/Nelson

Not realistic:

Antipin-Shattenkirk
Mccabe-Risto
Guhle-Bogosian
Faulk/Nelson

Currently? Probably not. The closest I can think of was when Nashville had Suter and Shea Weber.

i think josi and ekholm/subban get pretty close.

interestingly, ron hainsey saw the most ice time of any d-man in the wsh-pit game at 21:06.

lowest total was cole at 17:01 and schmidt 18:35.

Everyone else saw between 19:30 and 20:30..ish

how the (frank) is that wet blanket? a free asset as a 2nd pair guy is great and i genuinely mean that.

Just because i dont think some mid 20's d-man out of russia isnt capable of playing 25 minutes a night as a top pair guy doesnt=wet blanket.

jesus christ

Jesus christ yourself. Read you're own words.

"you're reaching hard here. If hes nikita zaitsev we're lucky, and zaitsev at this point is a 4.

He could be kempny, which is solid third pair."

These words don't say anything about "great" "free asset" or "second pair." They are all about "probably 5 or 6 and maybe, just maybe, a 4."

You literally call a guy sub-4, and then in the next post think it will be great to get him. Some of you are such Schleprocks you don't even realize how miserable you are.

botterill interviewed as well

I saw someone tweet yesterday to expect him to be the new GM, but I didn't know how credible he was.

Just a thought on the vein that we need a number 1 guy, I think Risto can be that guy, but he needs help. I'd like them to go a defence by committee approach by having more balance throughout the top six instead of putting all our eggs on the top pair.
I'd love to sign Alzner but I think hes going to be massively overpaid for what he brings, great dman, but id like a more offensive minded guy added for the 5-6 mill he will probably get.

getting a 2nd or 3rd pair guy out of europe for entry level money is great. in his rookie year id project him anywhere from 4-6, which i think is reasonable and still good for this team moving forward. At no point did i say it was a bad pick up, you're just assuming negative tone because i didnt agree that he was going to play 25 mins a night in his first season in north america. Thats not negativity thats just a highly unrealistic and unfair expectation.

Would love if they could get Fenton as GM, he seems to know dmen pretty good.

Yeah - early 2000's, in fact he was on the roster (up and down) the season before the lockout. I remember a few goals he scored as a Sabre (vs. Boston, vs. Dallas).

I don't recall how far he got last time, but I remember him being an up and comer.

Seriously, HOW? If the sabres were in the first round, people would buy tickets to sit in a toilet stall and watch on the bathroom TVs

What has happened to the Hockeys future site? I used to really like it but it seems like it hasnt been updated in a long time. They still have Jimmy Vesey listed under our Left winger depth and no Nylander.
