Big changes? I'm not so sure. Trading Darling just limited his options. I guess Stan could still trade Crow for another goalie. It will be interesting to see who our back up will be.

Stuck with Crawford and forced to move Darling.

Troubling times are ahead.

I just saw that the third round pick is Ottawa's which Carolina acquired for Stalberg. Stan couldn't even get the Canes third round pick. Terrible.

How does Teddy Bear Phillips continually get a pass...they had Charlie Casserly on the Score the other morning and he said all what we all knew the QB's were bad and he'd take either Lattimore or Adams - I wanted Adams. And then they do this...and do you trust Dowell 'Kenny' Loggins to teach the kid as the OC...and they got the kid from that QB cradle North Carolina...
- DK002

Teddy got a pass since he was the brains behind a half-billion dollar taxpayer financed PoS on the lakefront. Park district owns it. Smallest NFL capacity. No insight by powers to be. Imagine revenue brought in by Final Four, Superbowl and other events with an 85,000 seat retractable dome. No, we get a PoS, which lost the Landmark status for WWI vets.

As for the picks, that is what you get when you cross Ops with bean counting. They should take a page out of the Cubs book: Clown Kenney stays on biz and AWAY from Theo, Jed and Jason.

Culture of Failure.

Bowman May re shape some of the core, you may see a 4or 6 player hockey trade where a good amount of salary is exchanged both ways . I still say the 1st thing taken care of will be a Bonified 1st line Left wing for Toews.
These guys have a major case of the as going right now feeling that their franchise has been embarrassed by the easy out in the 1st round. Hopefully these guys are watching how playoff hockey goes. The years they won the cup they had grinders along with their elite. This year they had NADDA !
Called it along time ago when everyone was buying Crawford plane tix out of town.that Darlings rights would be dealt.
I'm saying, 1of the 3D man is gettin dealt, and/or 1or 2of the forwards and rookies in return SB will get A younger D and a high cost wing, some of that may hedge on if DeBrincat could make the jump next year.still saying someone like Taylor Hall or Duchene type will be a Hawk come Sept.

Stan the man further boxing himself in.

Huge contest going on in Chicago sports management right now -- pissing contest between Ryan Pace and Stan to see how many more dumb moves they can make before their respective bosses/owners say ENOUGH.

Pace was in the lead by coughing up multiple picks to move up ONE SPOT in draft.
Stan counters by gluing his feet to the floor with Corey Crawford who has waved his limited NTC/NMC in Stan's face and given him the middle finger saying he's not leaving.

Stan, head down, looks at his book of contracts to realize there is next to no one left that he can trade without a sweetener because virtually everyone on the club with any sizable salary has a no movement/limited no trade clause.

Stan tells his boss McDonut it's OK, at least he saved some salary cap this way. Stan glances again at his book of contracts and mutters under his breath "oops, I forgot when I gave out those clauses that I was supposed to do that in exchange for salary on each contract. Sure hope Mr. McDonut doesn't catch this."

Stan's next move is to use his Uber app as he heads off to see Ryan Pace in Lake Forest, hoping he can get Pace to re-up Fox's head coaching contract for 5 more years so the press will be off his trail.

How do we get one of these sports management jobs? I mean, other than being born into it. Pretty sure one could use Q's line blender wheel to come up with better moves. I have little hope for the upcoming season. Gonna be lipstick on a pig. I hope they at least put the pig in a nice low-cut dress.

Not sure I follow...

If there was no chance of signing Darling, moving his negotiating rights for a 3rd is a terrific deal.

My guess is this signals that CC isn't going anywhere...which is fine by me.

Considering CC is the least of the Hawks problems...I'd say "stuck" is a situation I can live with.

Now if they also move CC and Darling in fact signs with Carolina...

...then the Hawks will be in troubled waters.

Some what of a Re shaping of the core is on its way Rob. AA, Breadman, ect. No one I guess is safe other than Toews and Kane.AA sure disappeared this playoffs when the going got alittle rough. Think Kane knew what he was talking about a couple of years ago when he publicly lobbied for Ryan Kesler. A guy like that is what they could have used against the Preds. Most of you guys dislike David Backes but he is another one I wouldn't mind on my team. Don't worry boys he's happy in Boston. Ya get the drift watching these playoffs.

Not making an easy out for him, but the AA high ankle sprain is far from healed. If this were much earlier in the season, he'd have 6-8 weeks to go. Remember Kane's in 08-09? Got hurt right before the Winter Classic at Wrigley. He wasn't cruizing until late season. Those are tough to handle.

I give AA a pass, he probably suited up only because it was the playoffs otherwise he wouldn't have dressed. Versatile 2 way player who plays at both ends of the ice. But seems a touch brittle.

Panarin is another matter, not only does he have to improve his game outside of the O zone without the puck, he has to get his ass off the sideboards and take the puck to the net more. His game is so predicable. Hawks will never win in the playoffs with him playing the way he does, a good defensive team has no problem pushing him outside the dots every shift. I hope Kovalchuk signs in NJ and Panarin wants to play with him there. The 2 of them can eat black caviar and borshch together and dog it on the ice as teammates.

Good points. He was really tentative.

Who would you want from Jersey?
