We have no need for Kapanen

We already have enough soft players in this organization

lol I would do that deal in a heartbeat. We are rebuilding aren't we? The trade is so lopsided in the Canucks favor it isn't even funny (which makes it all the more unreasonable), but obtaining 18-20 year old semi-established forward/d prospects or picks is exactly what this franchise needs to start doing.

where is he going to play? How many undersized forwards do we need? I'd take Goblin and Dahlen over Kapanen. We have no need for him. so an undersized 21 year old (in July) and a late 1st for a top pairing dman? hard no!!!!!!!!!!!

Utica for all I care. He instantly would rank 1st of PPG in Utica if we got him lol. That is exactly how bad our prospect pool/AHL team is right now. This "rebuild" is about getting younger, acquiring more prospects, and acquiring more picks. Who cares where these kids play, it doesn't really matter. If they are best served in the AHL developing, than I am ok with it. Let the Canucks suck for a couple more years, but start stock-piling now.

we can do better...let's mix in a non-smurf prospect

edit. Goblin has a 1.25 ppg so Kapanen would rank 2nd.

meh, I really don't buy that. Plenty of smaller players in the league making significant impacts. Brendan Gallagher has bigger balls than any player on the Canucks right now. Probably bigger balls than most of the Canadiens roster too. We just need more assets/prospects/picks.

Goldy had 41 points in 46 games with the barracuda,
4 points in 3 games with the comets.

He would be a 2nd to Kapanen.

Tanev is a top pairing D man on the Canucks...

You would be hard pressed to place Tanev on one of the other 29 current teams where he slots in as top pairing.

Tanev is not a top pairing Dman, at most he is a Top 4.
And a Top 4 can land you Taylor Hall.

Taylor Hall for Tanev, gitr done Trader Jim.

To be fair you guys play in the big bad west. You need more Virtanen's and Gudbranson's of this world. Maybe make a move for Nick Ritchie?

clearly the 1.25 was from his time with Utica. I don't like Kapanen. He did put up solid numbers on a stacked Toronto team but he hasn't proven jack at the NHL level. You don't trade top pairing D for B level prospects. This has nothing to do with Goblen. We obtained Goblin for an old and declining Hansen.

Larrson has so much more value than Tanev though it isn't even funny.

I think Tanev is a No 2 on most teams. Even if you think he is a No 3, his value is greater than a smurf plus a late 1st in a weak draft.

I see what you are saying. I have zero attachment to any Canuck player over the age of 25 right now though. As far as I am concerned, get rid of them for whatever you can, and tear this thing down and do it right. If we are going to lose, than so be it, but rebuild if you are going to say you are going to. This hybrid rebuild on the fly bullpoop was the biggest waste of time lol. Tear it down and do it right. Hate to say it, but LL stripped the leafs down and look at them now. 1 year removed of getting 1OA, to making the playoffs. I think this whole thing is more so having a clear direction, sticking with that direction, and not deviating.
