That flapping bird goal celebration by Kuznetsov last night wanted to make me go through the screen and give me a little tap. What a douche. - MattStrat
That's a great sign for us Pens fans. Arrogance & complacency are very hard to get through - when you are feeling that way! Some will say he may have been pleased with himself, but pretty sure I saw Leafs fans say similar things about him!
Hoping he keeps flapping his wings as I doubt he will ever actually fly......... |

Yeah, I guess they're supposed to automatically be gifted those, right? Then again, if they get the one or two they coulda/maybe had if the officials were calling a clean, by the books game, then the Pens coulda/maybe got about 5 more themselves. Maybe it's better for them the officials called the game they way they did.
BTW: Did you hear they've installed an Ovie iso camera, so we can see all his action separate from the game action? Interesting thing is, it's not installed on him nor does if follow him. It's simply mounted above the left circle.

Well our offense is set. The only thing that's holding us back is Tomlin's inability to coach and Todd Haley not utilizing Ben to his full potential game in and game out, so I agree we need to draft defense. But our front seven is good. I don't like that we keep drafting OLBs. Granted, the secondary is one of the toughest positions to just come in and play as a rookie/sophomore, but if the Rooney's are gonna continue to be anti-big FA splashes then we have to draft secondary guys and hope for the best. We're in win now mode with Ben nearing retirement (gave me a good scare this offseason) and our secondary continues to sink us.
Then again, we could have the Jets secondary from the 2010-11 and we still won't be able to beat the Pats because Mike Tomlin doesn't understand that you can call other defensive schemes besides zone blitzes. |

They can draft Jesus himself and if they stay in zone against Brady he will eat them alive every time |

They obviously needed an OLB. Jones busted and Harrison is 39. I don't think they had a choice. I heard some like this pick while others hate it. I have no idea.
Now we need a couple of corners.
I think the Steelers blew it this off season in a big way. They needed to get a good FA or two. Ben has a limited shelf life these days. Should be "going for it" to maximize it. This team has no better chance of getting through New England than last years. Bryant will help if he stays clean....BIG IF. |

I did, the Pens got owned last night, and got lucky Fleury bailed them out lol not really much else to talk about. I didn't think anyone played very well with the exception to the Crosby line. the Bonino line got buried in their own zone. The 1st period was solid and then the rest of the game was a train wreck with Fleury picking up the debris. |

He'll eat them alive in man coverage too, he's the best QB in the history of the game |

I just think they felt that they needed to replace Jarvis Jones. I didn't know much about the draft this year, didn't follow it as much.. but I was hoping they'd take a cornerback. Dude from Michigan was a beast wasn't he? Jabrill Peppers? |

Watt looked like a small reach to me. And he doesn't seem fast twitchy so theres concerns his athletiicsm is a little low to be a really good pass rusher. I think the floor is low on him and we get a solid starter. But passing on Foster who is already elite was tough for me even if he has some issues. |

Yeah I thought about it a bit more and NFL talk doesn't really effect my life all that much one way or another ahah. Just a bit more to weed/scroll through to see hockey stuff.
As for the Caps owning the Pens last night? I dont see it that way. Sure, in the third when they were trailing the Caps turned it up and the Pens sat back. Thought the Pens were better team for majority of 1st and 2nd.
Hit my up with the fancy stats you post sometimes showing chances and what not if you get a chance. Thanks in advance. |

The Pens got annihilated. Are you people serious? This was the luckiest win I can remember in the last 2 seasons.
Pens need Wash to role snake eyes 3 more games if they want to win this series playing like that. |

The first 6 minutes of the 2nd wasn't a train wreck for Pitt. The Crosby line could have had 1 or 2 more goals in that stretch. If the Pens would have got a 3rd goal there I think it would have taken the air out of the Caps sails......but they didn't and the Caps slowly took over and crawled back into the game |

They got absolutely wrecked in the scoring chance department, some of that is score effects, but that is BAD. |
