Coopers coaching methods have definitely been questionable, I don't blame him for having doubts about him. |

For any player that felt slighted by his words, sometimes the truth hurts. Kuch earned the right to say what in this case needed to be said and I for one applaud him for it.
The only question I ponder is what if any affect this has on Cooper's longevity. This isn't the first time some of his methods have been questioned from within, yet we have yet to see any kind of adjustment. At some point something will have to give |

Killorn has never scored more than 41 points in a season.. 36 is right around is career average... so yeah, that doesn't make sense to me. Dude's 27, he's not going to get much better, if any better at all. |

He's obviously a cancer - you need to trade him to us now. We'll give you Ericsson and a third. |

The comments weren't directed at his production or lack thereof, they were directed at his commitment and hard work on the ice which were not at previous levels before his deal

Meh. Dude put up the same points he has his entire career. Production is still production. I think people expect him to be something he's not. He's a 27 year old top 6 winger. Dude's not elite and will never be. I'll take 40 points every year if that's waht he's gonna dish out. |

Another one of the many cool players on Tampa Bay. Kudos to him for speaking the truth. Tampa is so close to a cup I think all Yzerman needs to do is some tweaking here and there. |

This seems to come up with Russian speaking players every summer. Do you think something is lost in translation? Or is it just the hip thing to blast your overseas team when you go home for the summer? |

I think a little bit of both (not hip, but just honest). Singling out Russians is ridiculous, given Eichel did the samething a week or 2 again. It just makes it harder because of the language/culture barrier to understand the context. |

Regardless of production he can be better which is what Kuch was getting at.

Right, and I'm saying he can't because his production is consistent with everything he has done over his career, and he is at the age where players plateau and start their decline. People need to understand players ceilings. There is nothing in Killorn's past 5 years that says he is trending upward at all. So there is no reason to assume he would get better. |

Again, Kuch's comments weren't directed at his production. They were directed at how hard he was working on the ice which was not at the same level as it was pre-extension.
Killorn can still be the same production level player as he was previously while also being the hard-worker he was before as well. One simple look at Killorn's season shows this. Started the year on fire, then went silent, then he had a good road trip out west, and then went silent again. But it wasn't the stats or lack thereof that was glaring, it was how Killorn was playing. Especially on the trip out west he was one of our better players, but for vast stretches of the season he was invisible or worse yet sometimes flat out lazy on the ice.
The problem for Killorn is he has shown all of us what he can do, what Kuch and for that matter everyone wants is for Killorn to want to do it as well. That want factor was lacking for large stretches of this season and to argue otherwise is just foolish

Nah. If anything the blame should be placed on players with subpar seasons. Garrison, Brown, Stralman, Sustr, and Bishop and Vasi's inconsistencies. Not the player who finished the season averaging around the same points he has his entire career. That is foolish. |

There is so much data out there, just looking at those numbers would be foolish. We've got plenty of different metrics to look at than just Corsi and PDO. HERO charts are a good start. Dom's gamescores are solid. Ineffective math is good data. Everything I've looked at points to him still playing like a top 6 forward, and that's really all that matters. The guy is a passenger, he's not one whos going to generate offense alone, and the fact that he still put up 36 points bouncing around the lineup due to injuries (and lower QoT) is a testament to his play. Killorn was not a problem what so ever. |

Well, let"s see.You actually watch the games and follow the team. j.boyd looks at stats and boxscores to form his opinions. Hmmmmm...who to believe? |
