Hopefully will be Hart or Sandstrom in a few more years. - BiggE
Geez just on paper with those goalies and some tweaks to lineup with youth we may be a force in 2-3 years. This just gave me a clear view of Hexy's thought processes.
1) Oskar Lindblom, Felix Sandström, Bucks County native Ryan Gunderson and the rest of Brynäs IF have a chance to win the Swedish Hockey League championship on Thursday as they face off with HV71 Jönköping in Game 6 of the finals. Game time is 1:15 p.m. EDT.
Bill any chance this game is shown anywhere on the internet? - bsw31usa
Here is my thought. Yes Ottawa or Rangers might get to the conference finals without a true #1 center but does anyone expect them to get past Washington or Pittsburgh? - youarewrong
I think the Rags could beat the Caps.
If modeling the Pens is the answer, we may as well give up now because no one's going to get two 100+ point 1Cs in a row from the draft ever again.

Exactly. They both carry some decent wingers and make them a lot better than they are. Crosby is probably the best two way player in the league.

With 100 point players near extinction, no, not unless something cycles out.
However... Draisaitl in 2014 and McDavid in 2015 is pretty close.
The best part of that is Buffalo finished with the best odds and lost the lottery both years - YuenglingJagr
I had three Oilers fans sitting next to me at the draft and for nearly an hour all they did was talk about how if Edmonton passed on Draisatl their entire trip down to Philly was going to be a complete waste. When they took him the trio stood up, high-fived and left to get cheese steaks at Pat's. I didn't like them enough to send them some place better.

that's cold. Were they living in Edmonton?
The only people from Edmonton I have ever met were a lesbian couple I met in Reims. They bought me lots of champagne so they are okay in my book.

Somewhere just outside Edmonton they said. They were nice guys, good conversation and I admire the pluck to fly in to Philly from Edmonton for the draft.
But c'mon, you come all that way and 6 picks in you get up and go? They were definitely Oilers fans. I hear Canadians talk all the time about how provincial US fans are. Those guys were surprised I knew anything outside of the Flyers and started out really condescending when talking hockey with me. I was still there when the Pit picked Kapanen and they were chewing fatty meat on a dirty South Philly street corner.

Nah we don't need to model after the Pens but just about every team that won the cup recently has that big-time center plus a good-great winger... or 2 great centers. Toews-Kane, Crosby-Malkin, Kopitar-Carter/Gaborik. Datsyuk-Zetterberg. Boston is the 1 team in the last 11 years that maybe doesn't fit that mold.
My question is will Giroux be that guy? To me its 50/50. It is just as likely he is on the decline then it is he has been hurt and/or needs a big-time winger to get him time and space. Either way I think I would like to find a way to get a someone that could be that guy. Would Giroux as a 2nd line center/ PP specialist be terrible? Not at all.

edit: not Hart, the guy that shot the DE trooper - YuenglingJagr
Yes they did. My cousin is a Delaware police officer and lives across the street from where it happened. I nearly passed out when I heard but thankfully she was in VA for training. F that dude. Save him a seat right next to Osama.

It's pretty much a fact that Giroux is on the decline. It's just a question of how fast. Hopefully he was affected by the injury and he can bounce back.
I personally would not trade Raffl for a 5th round pick. That's basically giving him away. - MJL
Just wondering, why do you always say "I personally"? Saying "I" is grammatically sufficient. Adding "personally" is just redundant and a bit pretentious.
