And a 5 on 3 (which one of the 3 had a broken stick). I'm not too worried as long as we can stay out of the box. When we started to apply heavy pressure and play our game, the Oil folded like lawn chairs.
The D needs to clean up in our own zone and get synced with the new lines, there were definitely some mishaps last night. - ducks4thewin
I think you misunderstand what "folded like lawn chairs" means.
The oilers won the game, ergo, they did the exact opposite of "folding like a lawn chair"
unless of course you mean it like, "despite the ducks pushing for stretches and quickly tying the game after being down by 2, the oilers folded up their lawn chairs and got back to work responding with 2 more goals of their own to put the game away"...........

Getzlaf is such a freaking beast when he's on his game. Why does he have to pull that after the whistle crap and pick on tiny Sekera? It moves him to Kesler levels of doucheness. |

Meh, I'm not concerned yet. Anaheim played average and made some big errors and it still took a fluky puck off a defender's skate to beat them.
Edmonton fans sure are cocky for a team that hasn't been in the playoffs for a decade. |

I want to give you guys a lot of credit in here. Not a single comment in here is blaming the refs, unlike the very uneducated Ducks fans on Facebook after the game saying this game was gifted to the Oilers. Props to you guys, and good luck on what looks to be a very tough and rough series. |

Oilers fans can be just as guilty of it. It was pretty badly lopsided during that San Jose series though. |

Banks off a players skate and in. Happens all the time. I wouldn't call it terrible. There was nothing Gibson could do. "Unfortunate", if you're a Ducks fan. "Lucky" if not. Ducks got plenty of lucky bounces against Calgary. Edmonton got the lucky bounce, and rebounds, in game 1. - quackup

The Ducks didn't play well, refs have nothing to do with that. They called a fair game.

I'm not sure what the broadcast showed you. But live at the game here's what I saw:
Getzlaf bent over to pick up the puck to give it to the ref. Kassian came up behind Kesler and cross-checked him in the back. Everyone on the ice saw it, and all hell broke loose. So blame Getzlaf all you want. But when you win a game and there's nothing going on, you can have class, or you can do what Kassian did. If you have an issue, face a man and settle it. The dude looks like a rat. |

Kesler is 10 times the douche that anyone else on the ice is and everyone knows it. I have no issue with him getting crosschecked after watching him do it to Mcdavid the entire game. Kassian just waited until the game was over so a penalty wouldn't hurt them. No issue with it, and Kesler deserves everything he gets.
My problem is why on earth was giant Getzlaf ragging Sekera of all people? He's literally the least offensive guy on the entire team. |

because Kesler's doucheness is rubbing off on Getzlaf |

HE really is such a beast. Like can't stop the guy. Can only contain him abit.
As far as douchiness, keslers on his own level. Good player too, but wow, I bet he's just as unbearable outside the rink |

I'm very concerned. Anaheim played extra dirty/douchey and still couldn't win... If they continue this... Well, as The Rock would say, hopefully Kesler and Getzlaf don't get their teeth knocked so far down their throats that they have to shove toothbrushes up their asses to clean them.
Edmonton fans are cocky, and rightfully so, considering that they have Lord Larsson - niedermayer27

Don't forget Perry trying to fight Caggiula and then throwing cheap shots at him with the ref between them. Caggiula is 5'9 lol. |

Hate to be the one to break it to ya bud, but the events that have taken place in the past are, uh, well.... history. They have no bearing whatsoever on what's to come. If the ducks can win tomorrow night they have a very good chance of winning this series still. But the fact they have that record when winning game 2's is about as relevant as what I had for breakfast this morning. Different players, teams, systems (and I'll assume decades for the stat you just gave). If the Oilers win tomorrow, the ducks are in a ton of trouble. Pressure's on the Ducks against an Oilers team that's essentially playing with house money at this point. They were never supposed to be this good this fast. Ducks have been built to 'win now' for years. Hasn't happened yet. Ducks desperately need to win game 2 or it might be lights out. |

The reason for the ducks fans optimism is that our did play there best game. The focus wasn't there. A lot of stupid mistakes. Like lindholm taking that high stick penalty. Or Josh mansin turning his back to play the rebound in the 5th goal. Everything that happened wasn't forced by the oilers but was mental. Look for a much sharper game in number 2. Also i think the oilers played almost a perfect game for them . I don't think they repeat that. Especially 2 goals from larsson. Doubt that happens again |

Oilers beat the Ducks 3-2 during the season. Eventually people are going to have to start accepting that the Oilers are actually good and their wins are earned. Ducks were one of the most penalized teams in the NHL so giving up a lot of PPs shouldnt surprise anyone. They gave up a ton of PPG to Calgary and they're just fortunate that Elliot was complete trash or that series would have been a lot longer. |
