Why don't you try a positive outlook?
Either way has no affect on the draft. But at least you'll feel good thinking about the Canucks the next week and who we are getting.
The negative mindset of this fan base is excruciating.

5th overall is positive in my mind.

Why do you keep comparing Nico to Daigle do they have certain attributes that you feel make them similar players? Or are you tossing sh!t against the wall
- CanuckDon

both highly rated top picks from the Q who were "sure "things , 1 of wich we know didn't pan out and the other is as big a gamble at 1-2 as Nedved was

sort of the same as people that are back to put Kristian Vesalianen back into the top 5 because his u18s were really good. Yet no one remembers how bad he was at the u20s. u18s this year was almost dominated by 17 year players that are eligible next year.

Yes, it's stupid when people over react to a short tournament. Sample sizes and all. But the WJC are the ultimate testing ground against ones peer group

Nico came from Switzerland and Daige ended up in Switzerland, see the comparison?

you said Bo was a 1B or something and that Nico is a 1st liner.

I said Bo is not a 1st liner and that i don't think Nico is at this stage either.

Ok, you have a bias against the Q. That's your perogative. Not really something I want to get into now.

that i will call BS on , there have been many examples of world junior stars who never pan out , one for example would be justin pogge , alex steward , cody hodgson , to this point nic petan , carlo coliaccivo , and many more , and these the canadians that come to mind

Yes, and I provide evidence that should support Nico having a higher ceiling. You can't compare a players draft season to their D+1 season. Nico will break 100 points next season. No prospect is a sure thing but he has a good shot at being a top line player

The problem with looking at a players production in junior is you can't just translate it that easily ...you could draft nico at 1 and he could be great ...you could draft someone at 5 and they could end up being the best in the draft class ...great junior players get drafted high and still struggle ...guys come out of nowhere like benn and you wonder how they fell that far
- Redmile247

It's not as much about stats for me, it's how they stats are generated.

A player like Benn just doesn't come around more then once a draft normally. It's an anomaly.

it's super wierd that all of the amateur scouts watch the games. Perhaps they are bored or looking for an excuse to get away from their wives?

There was a serious lack of prospects in that tournament. Matthews, Laine, Juolevi dominated that tournament before being drafted.
