No they don't. Every team will have peaks and valleys. As long as they continue positively forward, they'll be fine. Look at Chicago this year. First round ouster. Is anyone clamoring for them to blow it up and start over? No. They'll keep doing what they do and make some adjustments. - Isleshockeyman
This year AND last year btw. No one is suggesting Chicago start over. If they are, they're idiots. |

Oh look, I'm already right.
Instead, Milstein told the Tampa Bay Times they came out of frustration after Kucherov and the Bolts failed to make the playoffs.
If there is a bright side to any of this, it’s that Milstein told the Times Kucherov wants to remain in Tampa Bay long term.

Half right. We have to wait for Stevie Y's "white bread" response. |

This is why I didn't support Yzerman re-signing Stamkos. He could've used that money to snatch more scoring depth that can be healthy. Metal rod in his leg, blood clots, and now another leg issue. This imo, should be highly alarming for Yzerman. - bgainesDM
I'm too lazy to see if it was the same leg he injured, but I think these are just more freak coincidences than anything. But I don't disagree that there is enough other talent on that team that they could have traded him for basically an entire new defense and maybe have been better for it. Tough PR move though.
I'd be lying if I didn't consider it with Tavares. Imagine trading him to ANA for Lindholm/Theodore? All the sudden we have a pretty awesome top-6 and maybe we could flip someone for Duchene. Hard to hate on the idea of having Lindholm/Duchene instead of just Tavares. Not soap-boxing for trading Tavares, but it probably wouldn't be the end of the world. |

Yeah, but last year they went 7 games. I think Tampa will be fine. |

For expansion draft purposes, that's the only reason why Anaheim would agree to that trade. I'd be upset at first, but long-term I'd be ok with that trade. |

Kinda like what the Isles have to do, right?
This is also the 2nd time under Yzerman that the team has regressed. Real teams play through injuries no matter what. - bgainesDM

Again, I'll ask you to look at the Pens in the month of March. |

Yes they lost guys and still had the best player in the world on their team but most teams cannot handle those injuries 1 out it 30 does not make a majority |

Tampa without Stamkos AND Bishop in the ECF btw, still took a red hot Pens team to 7 games and had them on the brink at 1 point after game 5. They didn't need Stamkos. They still had Kucherov(who is better than JT btw). Hedman only missed 3 games. They needed buffering on defense. Maybe if they didn't hold onto Filppula and Boyle for so long they would've been more prepared for this. Again, this is why as a hockey fan, I didn't support Yzerman keeping Stamkos. Now, they have cap complications as well as a need to address their defense. Hence, why I still call this a regression year for Tampa. |

It Would be far from the end of the world but Snow would be doing the trade so it would probably suck and he's still our GM so there's that. No success until he's gone you heard it here and I'll tell you a few times again tomorrow. |

It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be a step back. I don't trust Snow to make that trade. I could see him continue negotiations up until the trade deadline and getting screwed. |
