Bottom line on the officiating is we've got to be more disciplined. I like us 5v5 in this series. Almost half of their shots and a lot (I'm not positive how many) of their scoring chances came on the PP. I thought this was mostly subsequent to the fact that we could not win a face off on the penalty kill. When the preds win 5-6 draws in a row and automatically get their big guns set up they can get several good scoring chances in a short amount of time. Keep in mind all of those shots/chances came in <6min as they ended up scoring on two of the power plays before they expired. Maybe Steen can take those face offs?

Also, was it just me or did Petro seem to have an off night? Mishandled a lot of pucks and seemed to lose his footing a lot more than usual.

- Yeah Boyes

Steen shouldn't take any draws

Sobotka should be if he is so good at taking faceoffs let him

Pietro had a rough night as did Jay bo

They were on the ice for all 4 Preds goals

I've thought for a long time now the notion of a home ice advantage is overblown and in some cases non-existent. It's a benefit to play four home games versus three, but you see that road team take the first game often and sort of neutralize a series.

What would you all think of offering the higher seed team this playoff format:

Game 1 away

Game 2 home
Game 3 home

Game 4 away
Game 5 away

Game 6 home
Game 7 home

This might make for a more true home ice advantage knowing the home team would have two games that are elimination games 100% of the time (6 and 7) in their own building.

You'd also eliminate extra travel.

I really like it, but of course i'm incredibly biased.

I think that is a winner as you give the home team two home games at the end of the series

Wonder if Tarasenko has a right shoulder injury? When a Predator player did a fly by and threw an elbow at him, he went down quickly and looked to be in some pain. It didn't look like he was diving.

i thought the same thing. He took a pop to the shoulder. I wonder if the joint is loose and that hit knocked it out slightly. He looked like he was in a lot of discomfort.

how that wasn't called was beyond me too

they saw him in discomfort he didn't just fall over

I mean they stopped the play

Ridiculous officiating in the second period last night

Agreed! Tired of watching the Preds defense hold and interfere all game long.

As the higher seed I believe you are allowed to choose this format

Home Home Away Away Home Home Away.

I believe you have to pick before the series starts. Not sure why teams never do this... I guess you don't want game 7 on the road?

Personally, Guru, as soon as Magnus Paaaaaaarvi scored the OT winner i heard your voice in my head.

Just been waiting for you to bust my chops about him being better than i give him credit for.

No need to brother. It is evident in his play. I just think the lines are a bit messy. You don't get to see his full speed bc of Lehtera who has played better but still hurts the team bc of how slow he is.

I would like to see Barbs center that line. Better face offs, more speed and better offensive player.

It sucks but the Blues showed they could over come it. I am not sure about all the calls against in the second when a lot of it is happening both ways but an obvious trip and slash. Though seconds before PK's stick breaks he takes a two hander.

Moments before the four on three call the refs watch Tarasenko get elbowed for no reason lol

But it happens. Just two bad goals by Allen. It happens. I think the Blues showed they can be the superior team.

That's not bad.

I thought sure the Blues are the road team in the first series after they fix the play off format that heavily favored road teams.

Agreed. For me it's not just his lack of speed but the fact that he pretty much never wins a one on one battle.

Lehtera has been a plus player for the Blues in the playoffs. Why are people still complaining about him?

He has played 3 games, and has two assists. He is a plus 5, so the other team isn't scoring when he is on the ice.

He has been good.

Okay so Subban is a great offensive minded player with a hard shot. I actually like defensemen that,,,,,,,you know,,,,,CAN ACTUALLY PLAY DEFENSE. He sucks there.
Glad we got rid of Shatty. Couldn't really tell in the 1st game but hopefully it gets better. Hopefully those two are not the standard for defensemen growing up nowadays. Defense first if that is your chosen position.

Blues need to exploit PK in his end and show how poor he is. saw a couple of times our guys moved right around him either with stick work or speed. We cannot do anything about his clutching and grabbing/slashing so be disciplined and beat them with skill.

We were completely the better team 5 on 5 in the 1st and 3rd periods. the 2nd period was ruined do to penalties.

Not going to female dog about the refs. It's pointless. Blues need to be more disciplined.

No, he is just slow enough for Subban to be able to catch him. Everyone else just skates right by him

Perron and Berglund need to step up for sure.

Steen isn't healthy. What's new? He at least has been dangerous at times. You know he is out there.

Perron seems to only be noticeable after dumb plays that lead him to the penalty box.

Yeah Perron has been disappointing in a few games but not as much as some make out. That line seems to not be attacking the net much as much as playing a more defensive game.

Right now I would have Lehtera and Perron before MPS. I am guessing the real reason is an injury.

Subban is effective in his zone if he is allowed to hold, slash, and take head shots at will.
