Ya but the leafs have the bestest prospects in the whole wide world, nobody has the prospects that the leafs have because they're the bestestses

San Jose might even give Vlasic up for free because they understands that the leafs are the bestest

With that being said, Willie Ny will probably cost Burns+

I wouldn't trade Burns for Ny+. How many D compare with the talent of Burns in the league right now? If you guessed 0, you'd be correct.

You'd have to throw in Marincin.

Laces out Marincin!

It was his failed attempt at trying to get a few laughs.. Have to feel bad for the guy though, he is a Habs fan.. Poor guy, all they have is Price..

Can you imagine if they ever get a puck moving defenseman, that is one of the best in the league?

Karlsson and Hedman.

If you figure in defensive ability it's comfortably Hedman. He's a complete freak.

Actually really well. The rebuild is actually only 1 year - the Leafs were not expecting to make the playoffs this year - most fans were pretty satisfied that the second wildcard team, sporting 8 rookies took the best team in the NHL to six, with 5 games going to OT. How does it feel to root for a team that has NEVER won the cup? WOW! San Jose fans criticizing teams that have won 13 cups.
- winsix

Umm.. the last time the Leafs won a Cup there were 6 teams in the league. I'd say your odds were pretty good back then. That was also nearly 25 years BEFORE the Sharks even existed. I think when it's been 50 years since you've won anything any past wins become completely irrelevant. Sharks became a team in 1991, and they have been a better team than Toronto the majority of the time they've existed.

ANY Cup wins before the first expansion of the league are completely irrelevant at this point. If the Sharks were an original team they'd have a crap ton of Cups by now too.

Can you try typing this out in something that doesn't resemble a back alley abortion?

Oilers won 5 Cups post expansion in a dynasty full of Hall Of Famers...and I still think it was long enough ago that it's not relevant anymore.

He also only thinks the Leafs rebuild has only been one year.

I guess Marner, Nylander, Reilly, JVR, Gardiner, and Kadri just appeared in a puff of smoke.

Burns is a different type of player than Karlsson. Karlsson is a beast for sure, but they have different play styles. But yeah, I do agree from an offensive standpoint, those are your top 3.

Still cracks me up that the Kings could have had Doughty and Karlsson in the same dang draft year.

What is it with Sweden anyways? They seem able to produce an ungodly amount of incredible blueliners.

I think his logic was every team that doesn't pick 1st overall isn't rebuilding

All I can say is that I'm looking forward to more rumours about other teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs and ultimately who's site traffic has been down since then.

Up tomorrow: "Bruins and Habs talking... Hearing Galchenyuk and Sergachev for Krejci and McAvoy"

Surprisingly I've seen some intelligent (and realistic) Leafs fans in this post so far. No, that guy is not one of them.

Ouch.

Edmonton could have trade Mike Comrie for Corey Perry one year, but Lowe said Comrie needed to repay 2.5 million of his salary.

Needless to say, the deal disintegrated.

That's just one story. Oilers have fans have EARNED some good times.
