I would do that one.

WHY?
It's teams like the Leafs that can leverage and exploit other teams in tough situations leading up to the expansion draft. This is a huge opportunity for well position teams. How gives a poop about the Ducks' problems? Bend them over if you can. - As_I_See_It
I am not complaining about how it helps the Leafs that part is okay
But I don't like the idea of hockey in LV That poop still pisses me off |

I seriously doubt he is a Leafs fan.
You are a (frank)ing idiot if you believe Vlasic is worth Nylander to a team in the Leafs position, or any other team for that matter.
Vlasic was the flavour of the month a couple years ago. Now he is just a good, stay at home D. I don't care what Chiarelli thinks is a good trade. - Aetherial
Right. Who needs a highly skilled veteran dman thats been deep into the playoffs for the last decade and can shut down any teams top forwards. Sounds awful I dont blame you. |

we have the depth to trade a couple of wingers from our prospect pool. Fair price for a legitimate top 4 dman. |

That kid has a lot of talent. He is raw in a lot of areas but he definitively has a lot of value. |

Yeah, there is that part about the other side of the trade. Nylander is too much to pay.
Picture the Leafs making that trade.
Do you seriously not see that every single person on here, including you, would immediately be laughing and posting poop about the same old Leafs trading away promising youth for aging vets. You can't tell me that wouldn't happen.
So today, Leafs fans are arguing against this trade, of one our best young assets for an aging Dman, and we are wrong about that also.

I think we're all wrong for even entertaining such an asinine scenario.
Oh well, its Wednesday. This thread is entertaining at least. |

Saw him a couple times against the Storm. He looked very much like a guy whose size, and floating style won't translate to the NHL. His talent is not that great. I would have needed to see a lot more drive out of him. |

If you look back I already said in previous posts that the trade doesn't really make sense. It doesn't change a thing about Vlasic's value. Imagine Reilly, Gardiner and Zaitsev having Vlasic to stabilize and teach. It would immediately make them a lot more dangerous.
But like I said, I dont either side does it. |

It wouldnt be a classic "burn the future down: Leafs style" trade without some how getting your 1st round pick this year involved.
Hah those years are over for the foreseeable future. |

I just witnessed Vlasic limit Mcdavid to 4 pts in 6 games, and his only ES pt was an empty net goal. Vlasic is quietly one of the best dmen out there, and the kind of dman a team needs if they ever expect to seriously compete. You won't get him for some reduced price.
That being said, I dont think Toronto would be willing to move Nylander, and I certainly dont think the Sharks are looking to move Vlasic. It would make sense for the Leafs, but not for the Sharks. - TheTaoOfSemenko

If Vlasic was 24-27 years old, I think more Leaf fans would be receptive to the idea of Nylander for Vlasic. With him being 30 now, I think if he had, say 7 years remaining on his contract, it would actually be more of an anchor. |

He has some attitude issues as well. Wouldnt be surprised if he was pretty apathetic about playing in the CHL at 20.
Oh well, 1st round talent snagged at pick #61. There's gonna be some baggage. Looking forward to him getting a look on the powerplay next camp. |

THIS JUST IN: Every team in the NHL would be interested in Vlasic to shore up blue line... more to come - Girouxsalem90
Ya but the leafs have the bestest prospects in the whole wide world, nobody has the prospects that the leafs have because they're the bestestses
San Jose might even give Vlasic up for free because they understands that the leafs are the bestest
With that being said, Willie Ny will probably cost Burns+ |

If he had 5 years left, and was 5 years younger, yes.
Unfortunately, he's a UFA and we can't reverse aging. |

If you could convince him to sign say a 3-4 year deal he'd be perfect.
Why am I still doing this lol? Why are any of us? It's ridiculous. |

If both of those were true then there's no way San Jose would think of moving him. Hell, they wouldn't even right now.
Really not sure why we're all still doing this lol. |

I didn't see your previous post, but why the HEAVY sarcasm in response to me for thinking the trade is absurd?
Sure I would absolutely love to have him on the Leafs.
From San Jose's perspective, we have all seen, recently, what it looks like when a team is too late to realize their window has closed *cough*Canucks*cough*. It would be a marvelous trade for them. How long before they contend again, how valuable is a 28 point stay at home dman, 3, 4, 5 or more years from now?
