agreed, he`s gone in a year or two anyway wtf does he care.
that being said, who replaces him?
we pretty much have to bring back the brisebois guy from tampa right? - dt99999
I'm sure he'd do an excellent job. |

He'll be a candidate for sure. Apparently there's a guy named Blair Mackasey they liked last time, he's director of hockey personnel with the Wild, with their success I imagine his stock has only gone up. |

his might be the most eminently forgettable GM tenure in franchise history. which, after Rejean Houle, was a gift from the hockey gods - DoubleDown
He did acquire what was probably the absolute worst Habs team of all time and turned them into a playoff teams while acquiring draft picks here and there.....
If you look at him, he didn't do a bad job overall in a very short stint.
He also traded for Audette and Gilmour. |

disagree. i think people need to remember that Radulov scored 50 points this year. we're not talking about Jamie Benn. we lose our poop over 50 points because our forwards are (frank)ing terrible but the reality is, it's barely even first line production, if that. no one is throwing $6-$7 million at the guy. his cap hit won't be much differnt from what it was this year.
also is Bergevin doesn't find some offence for this team he will be out of a job in 12 months. not sure long-term cap implications are going to handcuff him this summer. - DoubleDown

in all seriousness i think we could see an Anglo GM. coach? never.
but a GM? why not? Bergevin speaks to the media like 4 times per year. if an Anglo GM came in and said "look guys, give me a year grace period and i'll start giving you interviews in French", people would be fine. Bob Gainey's French was not very good and no one gave a poop until it dawned on everyone that he was a terrible (frank)ing GM

his tenure coincided with Jose Theodore playing his 2-3 years of good hockey. |

Honestly, an anglo who would try really hard to speak french as much as he can when being asked questions in french would shut everyone up.
Hell he can come in and say:
"About Galchenyuk..... il est pas encore ce qu'on veut qu'il soit yet.... he needs to focus and work hard.... je le vois plus comme un.... winger short term.... mais in the future.... joueur de centre peut-être."
BAM! EVERYONE IS HAPPY. |
