Karlsson has pretty much carried the Sens to the playoffs and second round.
Without him, they arent a playoff team.

What stud.
Leafs need a clone of him.

I will be writing more about it this week, but I think the Leafs are going to be looking for situations like Vlasic in SJ or Ekman-Larsson in AZ where they can acquire a top pairing defenseman for prospects and/or draft picks.

The Leafs have depth on the wings and can afford to move Nylander or Kapanen for the right guy.

I think Hyman, Brown and a 1st gets it done.

Can anyone explain to me how someone's cap hit can change from one year to the next? I thought it was AAV and that hit counted for every year.

Chara is the example I'm thinking of. He goes from about 7M to 4M next year and it's the same contract

Was it when they got rid of those front/back loaded contracts? His is more front heavy, but considering his age makes sense. It's not egregious at all.

yeah, they changed his caphit with the new cba and all the new rules around contracts.

fact: every SC champion since 2009 has had a least one cap circumventing deal on the books.

Well it's not the first time we hear players being disatisfied with Cooper, who tends to like the guys he won the calder cup with a little too much.
