It's happening guys.. Gardiner's getting traded

Babcock's pumping his tires a bit too much

Babcock: I think Gards is a real, real hockey player. He’s got high hockey IQ. He’s got ice in his veins. He does some things where you wonder what the heck he’s doing. But he always gets the puck out of his zone. When he arrived, we just talked to him. Talked to him every day and let him play and kept putting him back out there. I thought his game really came along last year but it’s coming like a landslide now. He can play against the best players.

- MaximusAurelius

yeah, the high hockey iq is actually a bit over the top. that doesn't smell right.

I wonder which is funnier? That, or saying Nylander has a low hockey IQ?

those are in the game 5 and game 6 blogs mainly
- MaximusAurelius

oh ok. yeah i didn't really post much in the main blogs during those games.

his play did drop off fairly obviously prior to the playoffs so it did seem fatigue or injury issues were a factor even before the playoffs started. the most surprising thing to me is that he still put up points even when he looked like poop compared to earlier in the season.

completely agree with your assessment.

people in here were going on about marner 'trying to be too fancy' and saying 'he should stop the behind the back pass every time' , 'no use in wanting to make a highlight play every time' etc. etc.

a big to all of you that critisized Marner during last few months, and in particular during his playoff games.
it was clear that something was up, and that he was not playing 100%.
so he had mono which apparently affected his play quite a bit and not a 'case of a rookie that doesn't know how to deal with less time and space in playoffs' (as per some 'experts' on here)

Go Leafs Go!

Put Marner on a decent line next season, and he'll get 80+ points

- MaximusAurelius

Maybe they should have sat him and played Leivo.

Should have traded him for Vlasic, just in time to win the playoffs.

He gave the puck away a few times doing this. I know I'm not supposed to use my eyes while evaluating....but more than just 1 or 2 people noticed this.

yes, maybe.
not sure why Babcock doesn't like Leivo, or at least doesn't give him some more opportunities.

Not sure about trading him But if he's sick why not play the guy on the team who scores the most points 5v5/60

I don't know..might be his skating or speed or something...I'm not sure. I didn't mind him when he was in the lineup.

I said he should stop doing those back passes. I also said he must be sick. So......Nylander is a PP specialist and Gardiner sucks....

Not sure why the guy who makes the most outlandish statements in this blog feels the need to post this crap in an attempt to get a pat on the back

If he was it wasn't mono, you can't
do poop when you have a case of that poop
I got it when I was 18, there was no way I could have played any sport.
