The fact it surprises no one, surprises no one.

We dont post crazy rumours, we are just smarter than the average fan and figured out that Goldy sleeping with Tryamkin's wife is why he left
- WhiteLie

Ed Willes offered this:

— Spent a couple of days poking around the Nikita Tryamkin story and came to this conclusion. The rift between the player and the organization is not irreparable. Wouldn’t say it’s an absolute lock but the sense here is he’ll be back in Vancouver at some point.
---------------
Whatever the rift is wasn't clarified but family, opportunity and contract will all be debated until we know more or when. At least he's only committed for one year in KHL. So there's that.

Trading Edler will certainly help the issue. (By TDL seems workable)

There is a lot of people that believe Nico and Nolan are NHL ready. That could be interesting .

So how long until rights to tryamkin becomes the new trading chip de jour?

Sedins and rights to tryamkin to mtl for galagher and salary dump.

Mtl signs kovy.

"ever since we heard that Rogers had acquired the radio rights for Canucks games to start in 2017-18. Vancouver's Sportsnet Radio will be broadcasting on the AM650 frequency, formerly the home of oldies station CISL."

Being an American (near Chicago) i'm not very familiar with Many Canadian radio stations, does this mean the games won't be on TSN 1040 anymore? Just curious as thats how I follow the games if i cant watch it.

I think Nolan would be best served going back to juniors for a year, just to have a year to dominate and finish healing. NO sense rushing him to the NHL if the possibility of re-injuring himself is there.

TSN lost the rights to Sportsnet. So for the local radio broadcast it will be moving over to the new Sportsnet channel at AM 650. I'm sure it will be broadcast on a radio streaming service (iHeart, etc..).

The Green dream team

Prospects: BB, Goldy, Dhalen, JV, OJ, Demko, 2017 1st draft pick, Molino, MacEwen

Unproven: Guance, Boucher, Rodin, Cram, Labate, Subban, Pedan

Fringe: Megna, Chaput, Shore, Skille, Bachman

Proven but limited: DD, Biega, Sutter, Sbisa, LE

Old core:Hank, Danny, Edler, Tanev

New Core: Bo, Sven, Granlund, Stecher, Hutton, Guddy, Marky

Green's pretty much stuck with last 16 players. Unless a trade is made from core groups to proven category. But he could press box the limited guys on rotation with his choice of unproven to prospects. He's got 8 to choose out of 20 from Prospects, Unproven and Fringe for roster.

So who are the 8 Green should/would choose?

We can have opinions but they don't do a lot of good. Most years the first and second go right to the NHL . Benning said it a few times now that there are some NHL ready players.

Reading between the lines he has also stronly suggested that OJ might be ready.

A lot are available on internet broadcast so sure they will be as well. Didn't like the iHeartRadio format though. Harder to get live and just listened to saved programs.

... and this dude is supposedly a scouting guru?

OJ might be capable of playing some majorly sheltered mins, but it'll be detrimental to his long term development. Capable does not = ready. & there are no players at the top of this draft who should go straight to the league IMO. (frank)ing Benning

Started watching Hockey around 2009 and i just kinda latched on the the Canucks, liked the Sedins and how they played as well as Luongo, Bieksa, Burrows, and i also really liked the jerseys. My whole Family are Hawks fans which made the ensuing years pretty interesting.

I obviously wouldnt be against getting Nico/Nolan, but beyond the first 2 I am a bit partial to the players that will go to NCAA, like a Mittlestadt, just so there is no question whether they will make the team or not. Secondary to that I'd also like one that can go to AHL, like a Necas.

Its not that I have a real preference of the actual players, but scenario-wise I like the flexibility of AHL or the assurance they will be developing for a year of the NCAA

That is right on an ideal team filled with NHL proven talent. But look at my post above of top Nuck players Green has to pick from. Then try to argue who is better to play? He's got 8 clear spots to fill. Development happens at all levels and players making mistakes cost games. But does that really matter to Nucks now?

why? what do you base this on?

edit. Button has said Vilardi and Patrick are ready next year. but I guess the Hockey Buzz experts know more than scouts and our GM

I don't base whether a prospect should make a team on whether he's better than some other scrub, I base it on if his skillset is developed to the point that it couldn't benefit from some seasoning vs lesser competition. OJ isn't ready. My opinion.

Outside Patrick/Nico i am 50/50 between mittle and vilardi. Unless Sutter plays on our 4th line i think Vilardi should go to juniors and then take over 3c from Hank the following year. May be the best for his development to become a future 1c.

That's a familiar fanboy stance made by every dude I debate leading up to every draft... Then a few years later when the players I liked are studs & the players we picked are busts, they get amnesia.
