He's ridiculous. When living in Cali I managed to get down for about half a dozen games at the SAP, and he was an absolute joy to watch. He was basically like the conductor to the orchestra, and everyone else did what he wanted (especially in the Leafs game )...

Playoffs and a great team creates way more revenue. More jersey/tshirts/hats etc, gate revenue, concession revenue, marketing revenue etc etc.

its a lot more money. Ever tried to buy a Blue Jays shirt in October? At least in Ontario they are all sold out. Playoffs generate a lot of money for big market teams.
