A pick in the 20-30 range could be much worse than drafting Darnell Nurse 2.0.

But I get what you're saying. I think he's good enough to become a solid top 4 guy in the NHL.

He's already 6"3 too...

- Scabeh

But once he straps on that Habs jersey he'll be a solid 5'9...

C'mon, jersey's aren't the thing that they strap on in the Habs dressing room.

Any comparables to him in style?
- lumlums

Everybody keeps comparing him to Karlsson, but that's a poopface comp.

Skates like Gardiner and thinks like Letang.

Cool. Sounds like a good pick in that spot. Between Vuori and Bergman, they'll be able to pick out any diamonds in the rough from Scandinavia

They should probably go with a Finnish guy
- TheMussel

Hey aren't there only like 5 Finnish Defensemen in the NHL right now?

So how would you rank Barnstrom, Foote and Hague?

And that's if you're generous enough to call Ristolainen a defenseman...

Based on seeing none of them play ever and only reading scouting reports and looking at stats...i'm all aboard the Hague train!

Mr. French,

You never answered my questions:

- Which of Valimaki, Foote or Hague would be the best fit for Toronto?

- Knowing the Leafs with be drafting 17th or 18th, are there any potential high ranked studs that could fall to the Leafs?

- As_I_See_It

I would take Hague.
He's a big dude, with a mean streak, and he's +22, just like another Leafs D-man.

I agree. I have seen Hague play 3 or 4 games this year and the guy is a player. He's big, he's tough and he can skate very well for a guy that big. I think he would be a Leaf by 2020.

Yes.
I dont think we should expect the players to improve greatly on their individual stats.

but ya Marner, yeesh....get a little physical with the guy, and he wasnt effective. He'd bounce back up, so good on him...but wasnt on his game.

- Fakepartofme

I really gotta give Marner a pass on that series. I don't think he was quite as bad as everyone makes him out to be. It is going to be another couple years before we see the full potential there.

McDavid was -24 in his first year with Erie.

With this in mind, can we please stop using +/- when trying to have a reasonable hockey debate?

I might get one.

But I'll get a Laine jersey first.

- Scabeh

I think you should probably go ahead and get the Matthews jersey, but make sure you take a good look at the Laine jersey first.

I think he should buy the Matthews jersey but the laine jersey is better.
