If we don't win the lottery, which I'm expecting, I say you trade it.

I know Bingo floats around here and he thinks/wants a Hanifin for Duchene trade but he also thought that something like:

Reinhart, Gorges, Ennis, 2017 1st for Hanifin, 2017 2nd, 2018 2nd

Would get it done. Carolina needs short term cap hits, that's Ennis and Gorges. We purge 2 awful contracts without having to buy out, possibly even retain on Gorges. We then throw our 1st and former 2nd overall for a young NHL-ready defenseman (who's also buddy buddy with our future captain (not Zemgus) Jack the coach and GM killer).

We overpay but get two 2nd's for much needed depth over the next 2 drafts.

But other than that, we're looking at flipping Reinhart and that 1st for an established and NHL ready d-man.

- BeadyEyedDouche

Yeah, but that 1st may be a top 3 pick and is definitely a top 9 pick, that's tough to give up along with Reinhart. Hanifin will be good, but he isn't a locked-in top pair guy yet.

Nashville-

Arvidsson- 4th
Ekholm - 4th
Josi 2nd
Craig Smith 4th

Pittsburgh

Guentzel 3rd
Letang 3rd
Murray 3rd
Rust - 3rd

First two teams I looked at have multiple important players drafted and developed past round 1.

And to think, we gave away 3 3rds for Bylsma, a favor for McPhee, and to have Netflix and chill with Vesey...... amazing

22 year old locked-in top pair guys aren't available. Hanifin is the best you could hope for.

Oh its (frank)ing boring now. 3/4th of that is the constant hooking, holding and interference that never gets called.

I'm a believer the Olympic sized rink solves a lot. It doesn't seem much different when the best players make up all star teams to play for their country during the world tournaments, but at the very least the larger ice would open up sht lnes. Once the skilled players were used to playing on it, they would be taking advantage of more ice to work with. No questions asked. Also, I never heard it mentioned, but what if they pushed the blue lines maybe 6" towards center ice?

Maybe, but I'd still pass. I don't think Reinhart is done developing yet and to add another top draft pick along with him for Hanifin who is no guarantee yet himself, that's too much.

Reinhart + 2nd, and maybe add a player like Fasching. But Reinhart and our pick this year, NO.

Agreed, definitely not that. I have a feeling it would cost something like Fitzgerald instead of Fasching.

I think people on this board are pooping on Reinhart because he isn't Leon Draisatl or Nick Ehlers. Compare Reinhart's first two year's to the Sedin twins first two years - that's the type of player Reinhart is. And the Sedin's turned out OK.

Having said the above, if we need to use Reinhart to get ourselves a

I'd be good with that. But, whatever the Sabres do, we have to consider the a real possibility of Okposo not returning and Kane leaving at the end of next season. Add in trading Reinhart and that is 3 of our top 6 gone from the offense. Add to that, trading Reinhart with a our pick this year who should be a good core player in our near future, and we're really shooting ourselves in the foot.

In the end, I'll keep Reinhart and just draft Liljegren or Makar at #6.

I think Reinhart still has development left in him, and we are just using him wrong. He's a center, he's creative there, we need him at center to maximize is potential.

If we use him as a center he will be gone eventually.

If he succeeds, he will command $$, and with ROR already at 7.5, Jack about to get big $$, they wont be able to commit a ton to 3 centers long term.

Unless they find a way to build an effective, cheap D-core

But why can't Reinhart be as good as Barkov?

If he plays well at center and we have to move him then because we already have Jack and RoR, then so be it, but at least we'll get a better return for Reinhart, then. What it sounds like you're suggesting (I could be wrong) is purposely holding Reinhart back by keeping in at wing just so he can't excel and we don't have to pay him. That's not how you run a successful team.

Christian McCaffrey would be a great pick! Hybrid offensive weapon....

Slot receiver (Welker type) opposite of Sammy. (Pull the safety from playing over the top of 14))

Divide backfield with Shady (pull LB's)

Would give defenses nightmares!

lol it's points per game. How the (frank) is that misleading? No, he's not as good as Barkov is now, but Barkov has, what? 3 seasons on him?
