That's how the analytics guys fight their battles..........

Justify their opinion by showing 'a form of statistic' that shows 'numbers' supporting it leaving out all sorts of other 'important information'!

Come on guys we need one unified cohesive positive thinking group to put the vibes out there to get through this next round. We all have something in common. We want the same thing.

I missed your response the other day when Jan wrote a blog without watching the game......a whole blog without watching a minute (probably watched about 5 minutes of highlights but still that's just not the same is it?)???

I'm sure you told him that because he didn't watch the game he shouldn't have an opinion. Right?

Selfishly hoping that Charlottetown loses their next 3 games. Sprong has been a stud this year and really could be a difference maker for the Pens.

Imagine a 4th line of Kunitz-Cullen-Sprong. Kapanen won a game vs Washington playing on the 4th line with Boyle and Martin, this line could be deadly! I really like Kuhn, and Rowney has been decent but the Pens will need 4 scoring lines to win this series.

I won't go as far as eating my hat, but I will give you 1000 doll hairs if Sprong plays a single playoff game for the Pens. His first stop is gonna be WBS until their post season is done too.

Man, be careful making that bet with this teams injury history...they could be down 3 wingers after game one...

These contracts could create an odd situation. Sprong basically has incentive to lose games for his team now. He either gets promoted to WBS or Pittsburgh. I believe both teams come with a better paycheck than Charlotte. Besides the fact that playing for a cup team is a bit more interesting even if he's scratched every game.

If I were sprong I wouldn't be playing hard at all for Charlotte.

Would you honestly throw Sprong into round 2 v the Caps? Not sure I would. I think Kuni will get a shot at annoying the absolute shyster out of ZoV as he has done in the past - just not sure which line he'll be doing it from!

Edit: it is late here, but that auto correct just earnt its place in a post on HB!!!

I mean, obviously if a lot of wingers were injured I would.

Kunitz is going to be on line 3 or 4...probably 4 at first. With his energy up because of his minutes in check I believe he could be quite effective there.

Don't players not get paid during the post season? I'm pretty sure their contracts give them prorated paychecks throughout the season, and then the playoffs are technically a tournament.

Players don't get payed in the playoffs. Plus you gotta think (or at least hope) Sprong wants to win regardless of where he's playing......but yes I'm sure living the NHL lifestyle is amazing compared to traveling on a but in juniors

I'm not so sure Sully would play Sprong to be honest.

That would go against everything athletes are. I highly doubt any player would sand bag that, regardless of league. Athletes are competitive by nature, I think you say that now, but if you had the chance to win a Memorial Cup, I'd bet you'd be thinking otherwise.

By Tanner logic of why the Olympics are stupid, this is decidedly not true and Tanner is right 100% of the time 60% of the time.

http://thehockeywriters.c...yer-playoff-compensation/

There is no salary cap in the playoffs, however, players still receive compensation for a playoff appearance. The NHL and NHLPA agree to set aside a playoff bonus pool to be distributed to teams based on how far they advance.

says Stanley Cup winners got roughly $150,000 in 2013

I was curious.. if Hags comes back in this series... what do you guys think the chances are we see similar lines to last years playoffs? Maybe...

Guentzal-Sid-Horny
Kunitz-Geno-Rust
Hagelin-Bones-Kessel
Wilson-Cullen-Sheary
Kuhnackl

Kunitz played will with Geno and Rust last playoffs... And that could be 4 nightmare lines for opposing teams.

I'm agreeing with you by sarcastically throwing shade at Tanner and his hyper anti-nationalist agenda that has lead him to the conclusion that no one should care about the Olympics because there's no monetary compensation for participating.

Interesting. Peanuts for must NHL regulars, but a boatload for CHLers if he were to receive a call up.
