Predictions for round 2:

- After being held to just 3 points in Round 1, Draisaitl will be leading the Oilers in scoring at the end of the 2nd round.

- Evgeni Malkin will take no less than 6 selfish minor penalties out of frustration.

- Filip Forsberg will be leading the playoffs in scoring.

- Washington will lose (see above)

- (frank) the Rangers.

That's probably not a good thing to do on a blown out knee.

Willcox got demoted to Reading to play in their playoff series while the ECHL studs Lamarche and Swavely remain on the Phantoms, and prospects who are actually on ELCs Like Fazleev, Friedman and Myers remain in the press box.

They keep trying to paint him as a two-way center, but everything about his game screams one-way winger.
- PhillySportsGuy

Everything except he led the Phantoms in +/- this season. The team's most one-way forwards who depended on the PP for points are at the bottom - Zengerle, Carey and Miele.

My first thought when I started was, "I better see Washingington will lose"
I was satisfied.

Have you been to local whiskey at PSU? I know you're an alum-in-law. I was there this weekend. You would enjoy

Nice, haven't been up there in 15 years or so. But I may need to take a PA road trip. I want to go to the Martin Guitar plant in Nazareth too.

I believe the organization is going to have to decide what to do with Laughton this training camp. Either trade him and get some type of asset back, or live with his mistakes and play him in the bottom 9 and learn like the other young prospects. I don't view him as a career AHLer like a Miele or Martel.

Do we know that Martel is a career AHLer? He's the same age as Scott Laughton.

I think that is a fair question to ask. The way Hextall called up forwards from the Phantoms this offseason, I believe he thinks so. Considering Vecchione signing, Lindblom coming over from Europe, and the probable resigning of Weal, Martel is going to have a difficult path to the NHL with this roster. Honestly, I think Laughton is going to have a hard time also.

I can recommend a fabulous taco truck along the way. Martin isn't the easiest to get to (especially if you're coming from the Philly area to PSU). I haven't been there myself but some family has and likes it.

Would you do something like Laughton for a player like Ryan Murray from Columbus. Both can be unprotected. But the flyers could protect Murray over Manning.

Murray has had injuries but maybe he works out here and allows you to move a defense prospect to get a forward.

He's 7 months younger than Laughton actually. They're also not the same player type, and Martel is a natural wing.

I'll just say that I think Martel might be a dark horse in a few years to be another surprise undersized NHL player. He's maybe the fastest straight line skater on the team. He led this stacked Phantoms team in 5v5 points (and primary points), despite being more of a 3rd line player. And last year, his rookie year, he led the team in goals. Even his dominant "overage" QMJHL year is a tough label because if he was 3 weeks younger he'd just have been in his D+2 year and draft eligible (December birthday). He gets basically no PP time, so his raw numbers, which are still very good, won't look as impressive because he does it all at ES. He's an incredibly energetic player too who shows no back down, so his role could be fluid. He's easy to root for. He's absolutely got a tough hill to climb, but no I think it's crazy to call him already a career AHL player with that profile, size be damned, and at age 22. Someone like Vecchione is turning 25, has 2 games pro experience, and somehow one is a surefire NHL player and the other is a career AHL player.

Martel's speed shocked me at development camp last summer. Kid was like he was shot out of a cannon compared to others during some drills.
