Kinda crazy to think that one of St. Louis or Nashville will be in the WCF.

Question, why is Oulette not in the Flyer's future?

I don't know anything about him, is he not panning out? Maybe he is a late bloomer.

- Streit2ThePoint

He's put up good numbers in the ECHL and ok numbers in the AHL, but, right now, he's significantly below Stolarz, Lyon, Sandstrom, and Hart on the prospect depth chart, and you could make a case that he should be behind Madsen too. When you are 5th or 6th on your teams goal prospect depth chart it's equivalent to being 15th-18th on the chart for a Dman. He basically has a snowballs chance in hell of ever being an NHL goalie, and a much less than 50/50 chance of ever even being a legit AHL #1.

I always was shocked that kid didn't make it I mean he was the next Patrick Roy when he was drafted.

Well, he was no Jean-Marc Pelletier.

Nashville, now that they are healthy, is really not that much of a surprise. They are a very good team.

Pelletier seemed like a real good prospect early on. Got off to a very strong start with the Phantoms. Worst thing that ever happened to him was being called up too soon and given an NHL start at a time the Flyers as a team were in a funk. He got his head handed to him by the Senators, got sent right back to the Phantoms and went back with shaken self-confidence that he never quite recovered.

True. However the fact that he could never regain his confidence after just one bad start makes me question if he ever had the mental toughness necessary to be an NHL goalie.

Yup, their D is loaded and their forwards are solid and deep too. As long as Rinne keeps playing well, they can beat anyone.

If all the D prospects work for the Flyers that's what we should look like soon.

I can't wait. I've seen about a dozen Phantoms games this year and I have no doubt that Morin and Sanheim can and will be top 4 Dmen and that Hagg, as long as he stays motivated, will be too.

I've also read and seen enough of Myers to be pretty secure that as long as the concussions don't become an ongoing issue, he's another top 4 guy, who, along with Sanheim and in some situations, Morin, could also one day play on a top pair. Add in Provorov, Ghost, and a still relatively young Gudas, and it's a group with fantastic potential. Heck, even Friedman has legit potential to be a solid NHL player.

Even if a guy like Hagg is dealt in a year or 2 as part of deal to land a good young forward, I could still see something like the following by 19-20:

Provorov-Myers
Sanheim-Gudas
Morin-Ghost

Yeah, that would be pretty damned nice!

He's not even signed to a NHL contract so I don't think he is considered a "prospect" at all

It's not that they're a bad team, it's that most people had written Rinne off and about a month and a half ago, both were considered outsiders to even make the playoffs.

FWIW, here are my 2nd round predictions:

EAST
Ottawa vs NY Douchebags
There is something about this Ottawa team that I just really like. Karlsson is a just a beast and Anderson is the feel good story of the year. Hell, even Bobby Ryan is earning his contract! It won't be easy, but I'm picking Ottawa in 7

Caps vs Crosby's crybabies
This is where the loss of Letang will bite them. The Pens are a helluva team, but so are the Caps and the Pens won't be playing without any pressure whatsover like the Leafs were. It will be a war, but I'm going with the Caps in 7.

WEST
Anaheim vs the McJesus Express
I give full props for the Oilers knocking off the experienced Sharks, but I think it ends here. Anaheim is playing their best hockey of the year at just the right time. Ducks in 6.

St. Louis vs Nashville
Nashville is finally healthy and they are very good team. St. Louis was able to get the Wild off their game, but they will have a much harder time doing that to Nashville. Nashville is just a deeper and, IMO, better. Preds in 6.
