Yup, Zubov & Nedved for Ulfie and Lucky Luc

I would have traded almost anybody but Zubov. I was devastated.

Should be an interesting week around here with no games to discuss!

If it starts getting out of control I believe a change will be made. I think the rangers really handled them selves correctly against the dirty habs team. Not one rangers was "soft" last series
- MacT27

The "trap" they use will be frustrating. Good thing about it is that Ott will have less time in offensive zone. They transition well, but so does NYR. Probably another low scoring series

Low scoring normally favors this team. I see it as:

Goalies: NYR if hank plays like last series
Defense: OTT unless 18/22 figures out how to play hockey
FWDS: Ott unless CK20 Hayes and Miller wake up then it's close to even

It will be a fun series that will go 6 or 7

Only the NHL would schedule both WCSF and ESCF on the same nights. V-dumb.

That long cross ice pass behind Kreider off the boards is a play that can work agianst the 1-3-1, also the cross corner dump ins form behind the redline for a player screaming down the wing with a head of steam is another tactic they can use to get through that trap. However those forwards must be on the same page as the defense and be in top gear when the puck is shot in to avoid the icings.

yup yup. As long as NYR sticks to their game plan and don't get frustrated and go off the reservation, they should be fine.

I appologize to any Native Americans reading this.

I did see the question you asked me yesterday, but not until "Jan the Tireless" had the new blog up.

In answer to "How I Became a New York Rangers Fan" - Mark Messier. Just that simple. I didn't really get into the NHL until about 1987 and at that time, like for most kids in Canada it was all about the Oilers. Moose was the poop for me. So, when he moved to NY, so did I (NOT Vancouver, though!!). Been a proud member of the fan club since '92.

Caps didn't show enough vs Leafs. They are getting beat again imo.

Speaking about Caps-Leafs, Obviously Auston Matthews is v-great, but Morgan Rielly was also playing out of his mind.

The Rielly/Hunwick pair had a great series against the Caps. Zaitsev got crushed.

You can make the argument that a series like that was good for them.

Not sure who will win that series, but I think the Caps will play well against the Pens. They have a definite advantage defensively.

I think the Caps faced a big challenge falling behind 2-1 & winning 3 straight (sounds familiar). I think they do get past Ptt in 7.

I want to say Rangers in 6 again, not totally committed to that yet, but of course I see us winning.

That word still makes me cringe. It is ironic how we totally swapped styles w Ottawa from what was both teams make up in the 2012 series.

Nice.

I can't even remember why I did, I think it was because my older brother was a devils fan.

I didn't even realize until just now reading the series pre-view on NHL.com - after AV's tinkering we now have a 20 goal scorer on all 4 lines!! Going to cause fits for the Sens D!!

I grew up with crazy football relatives. Nobody watched hockey.

Probably really got into it when I was about 12. Like late 80's.

You had to look at that box scores, and tabulate stats on a sheet of paper.
