Hard to pin point when but he lost it before it was talked about, I said before the finger pointing started also around the same time.

biggest problem was injuries...didn't have the depth to cover them...and that goes all the way to Rochester...

my biggest question is, why did they roll with less than 45 professional contracts this season?

wonder who's decision that was and how they came to the conclusion that it was good for the organzation

Not resigning schaller; Boston used him quite a bit

i think losing the room turned them into a bottom 5 team, but they were on the outside looking in no matter what cause of that blueline.

Not sure the age argument helps though, all about youth in the nhl these days.

DD (like Lindy in the past) would rather play veteran guys who have not fully recovered from injuries, rather than a younger player with less experience. I hated seeing Kuli and Bogo out there struggling mightily on the second pairing while we have Fedun, Austin and even Nelson either rotting away in Rochester or playing 5 minutes a night. I'd rather see a young player GET some experience even if it means getting burned occasionally rather than watch overpaid guys constantly getting outmatched.

that got him fired. you take any job and make big timeline promises to your boss and dont deliver your fired. The fact that they managed to get worse and other rebuilding teams passed them? he had no shot.

If he hadnt set ridiculous expectations and didnt gut the organization to get his guys there's a decent chance he still has a job today.

I take issue with this. The Blue Jackets have been bad forever, the Leafs have been bad forever, and the Oilers have been bad forever.

The Blue Jackets were finally healthy combined with one of Bob's good years. The Leafs had every single rookie come in and exceed expectations. The Oilers have McDavid. It's impossible to compete with any of that without a massive dose of luck.

It's not like Scotty Bowman came in and said "This poop is easy, 3 years. Boom." This was a first time GM, you have to understand he's talking out his ass to some extent, you can't say how fast/easy you can do something if you've never done it before. That's how everyone gets into trouble with home and car repairs. They don't know what they don't know.

That's what I'm getting at when I'm saying Pegula doesn't know what he's doing.

maybe what it all came down to is they choked, from murray to bylsma and on down to the players

the big bet he made last summer was on kulikov...I still can't get over how people think pysyk was such a loss...

to reiterate: kuli played in the wcoh and missed most of training camp then was injured in his first preseason game...it was an injury that affected him nearly the entire season...

in the very least he's comparable to pysyk...when healthy

Betting that temp wingers for jack like Foligno made sense?

Don't know to be honest, my uncle's friend is a little burned out and things seem to be quite. Don't know how much info i'll get until the changes are made, hard to get any info as of now.

Nothing on Okposo my uncle won't cross that line with his friend and ask anything about him. He's good friends with his guy on the Sabres but there are lines you just don't cross and that's one of them. They are keeping very hush hush regarding him.

Agreed 100%. if they were serious about winning, Gorges would've been on waivers and Guhle would have been on that bottom pair from day one. Sure he would have struggled at times but a Guhle-Fedun bottom pair alone wouldve made an impact.

the kane/eichel/reinhart line should have been the sabres top line

as for the defense, perhaps bylsma should have altered his almighty system and let players carry the puck out more...but he stuck to his system which was a failure

bogo can move the puck...he's no karlsson but he can do it and has some speed...

think bylsma was too rigid...time and again I watched players head to a spot instead of getting into the flow of the game...what the hell kind of coaching is that?

I am not an analytics guy. One of my favorite defenseman we had was Rhett Warner. I bet his analytics weren't too good. I was also hoping they went for a guy like Kris Russell, who probably isn't so high in the analytics. Analytics only show part of it. You need guys that do the less fancy stuff that analytics don't measure.
