Meh, in the end he will go where he wants to go...only a select few teams can offer him a one year contract worth a poop ton and offer him playoff hockey. And no team is supid enough to give up anything more than a B prospect and maybe a pick for a 35 KHL UFA free agent that can wait a year anyways. - Santo_44
have you watched the nhl gm's at all? radulov got what? 6 mil? with all his baggage? he would bring back a good return to the devils without a doubt. |

Let this POS rot in Russia.
All owners have to be okay with him returning I think, don't see New Jersey ownership being okay with him ever coming back to the league as a player. |

I just love how the only people that are saying "(frank) him" or "dont let him back" are all non devils fans. the guys is still playing at a top level. We'd be stupid not to bring him back. Whether we keep or trade him is another story but not letting back because he hurt our feelings would be moronic. Were getting a free asset that is equal to a first round pick. Ya'll are just butthurt or jealous. |

Yes, us all are jealous of the Devils.
How many games did you win in your last 30? |

Jealous probably wasn't the best thing to imply there, but you don't really get to talk either. You're golfing too. |

If Kovy does come back, do we trade this years first for more immediate help on D? Just spitballin a bit but our forward lines would look pretty good if Zacha and Quenville continue playing like they did towards the end of the season. Put someone who can handle the minutes next to Greene and we should be good playoff team. |

it's almost win/win. If he stays, we have another top tier pro for the kids to learn from. the only downer is we probably won't be a bottom 3 team.. the rebuild would be essentially over.
Sign and trade could bring back something nice. Keep in mind, Kovalchuk is 34.
It would be fun to have him back, but maybe 1 more year of suck is in order to hopefully land a franchise player, if McLeod isn't it.
Idk if I could handle yet another year of suck. hhh. whatever is best. |

Right, that's the million dollar question.
.. or perhaps the 8 million dollar question.. as I thought I heard you say Shattenkirk.. |

We already got in hot water with the commish when we circumvented league rules to sign this guy years ago. We learned our lesson then, or so I thought. It's bad juju to drink from the the same tainted waterhole. Getting embarrassed like that in front of the league and getting our pee pee slapped again? No thanks. - jackzack87
Is it weird that I often wonder how old you are? It's probably weird. |

Kings were strongly interested in him before signing with the Devils.
Not that he would be my first choice but if he still has the scoring touch he once did
I'd trade muzzin/Martinez for him.
But I'd rather save that trade for a much stronger candidate like a package for Tyler Johnson at center and move Carter to RW 1 with Kopitar
Muzzin/Martinez Kempe 1st for Johnson. I'd do that in a heartbeat |

I thinking that was his point. Adding Kovi helps this team. |

After the series the Caps just had with the Leafs I would not be the least bit shocked if Shattenkirk signed with the Leafs this off season. |

If I was a free agent, the Leafs would be my top choice regardless |

NJ gets to send him to Vegas as their disbursement pick and he has to take an entry level contract salary.

Maybe it's just me, but considering that Johnson is easily expendable to TBL now, that seems like an overpayment. |

A big overpayment. Check Johnson's last two years. Where he was defensively okay and offensively poor last year, he was defensively bad and offensively decent this year.
If I'm trading for a 2C, I want him to do both. |
