Clown still doesn't know a thing about hockey...the more I watch Trump's stupidity the more I see a likeness to McDonut...they thrive on organizational chaos and hyperbole.
- ElkgroveMcD

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As much as I do not like McD's omni-presence as if he is most important, he is promoting his brand. And as along as his brand mgmt doesn't affect hockey operations, I am fine. Cubs separated biz (Kenney) and ops (Theo). Hope the 'Hawks have that.

As for Trump, us business owners and those who employ people, his attempts if successful can rectify years and years of growth-stifling efforts. Today's announcement was that first attempt.

Shortsighted and, imo, so far from being correct.

Agreed! This team had the most points in the Western Conference this year. Done???
THIS TEAM could have won the Cup this year, had they actually played! This is what is sooooooooooo inexcusable- absolutely smoked in round one. This team didn't show up, period.....and I'm

Well off to stare at the Bears debacle the next few days. See if Bowman does anything else between now and then but doubtful. Still think any player personnel trades will happen around draft.

Enjoy most of you, even those I don't agree with as it's fun to jab back and forth on ideas. THink everyone here is a loyal supporter and wants this team to resemble a cup contender as long as possible.

Until the next move...........cheers.

Leave seabrook hossa kruger AA unprotected hoping that vegas will take one. trade Crawford for assets young mobile skating d men with size and edge to their game or lw/center. If you can get a top 12 1st round pick for Crawford that is another route, the key is younger bigger faster and willingness to win board battles go to front of the net and life hell some fight in the hawks game that's was lacking in the Nashville series the want to do what ever it took to win. Hawks need to find that fight that swagger that we know how to win I think complancey sent and entitlement is what did the hawks in. Firing Kitchen and Dent was bowman placing the blame at someone elses feet instead of himself. Not giving the coaches a pass they are to blame but not as much as Bowman he constructed the team and didn t get a top lw to play with towes brought in retreads rosie tottoo cambell odaya and relied the young guys to save the day when they should have been in Rockford developing except for Hartman. Since bowman has taken over the physical players are and have not been there you have to have good balance of skill and grit hawks do not have that they soft and all those beatings the core has taken finally caught up to them, so whose to blame everyone coaches players upper management but to me the who constructs and signs the players is the most at fault BOWMAN!!!

How would a cap recapture penalty work in Hoss's case? Not that I advocate moving him.

1. Seabrook, Hossa and Anisomov can't be exposed due to their NTC/NMC.
2. Move Crawford who has been the team's best and most consistent player over that past 3 seasons (next to Kane)?
3. Bowman accepted the blame and those changes (albeit small) were necessary. Dent's situation was a mess in Rockford and people were calling for Kitchen's job earlier in the season with the way the PK performed.
4. Campbell and Oduya were low cost moves that (almost) everyone loved a the time, they just didn't work out.
5. Ya, Rozsival and Tootoo are head scratchers
6. I think the young guys needed play in the NHL, just not with as much responsibility as they had.
7. Fire Bowman, agreed.

Tootoo was necessary to meet two forwards exposure requirements. Rozsival I'm not quite sure, only needed to expose one Dman. I suppose it gives Stan the option of trying to trade TVR and get at least something for him. Which would almost force Vegas into taking Kruger.

1. Cant be argued
2. 100% factual - when i have time I am going to go back and read post game comments and subtract every goalie win except 5 (each team should have a handful). I bet the points come out to 75-80
3. True
4. I was one of those and don't "regert" it.
5. One = Language buddy, other Begged for by core. The core wanted him and then should have to fill in what his diminished talent brought - oh wait the core under performed even worse...
6. Agreed
7. And Bowman Sr. which is where i think the rub may lie and who is really behind the elder-statesmen skaters...

I thought that they're signings were two way? They could be sent down to Rockfish and therefore the Hawks get rid of their cap. Could be wrong but I think that's the deal. Makes sense since they would be eligible for the expansion draft.

Thanks for clearing up that nmt clauses have to be protected as far as recapture penalties if the league and bettman wanted to enforce those look no further than savard pronger daytsuk and all dump salaries in arz that the league is running it be strong argument and examples why the hawks could the legal route and make a case hell pronger is working for the nhl. So every team can dump salaries except the hawks. So screw the nhl best money making market in the U.S. I don t see it happening. One question and maybe someone can answer this can the vegas team make trades during the playoffs or can any trades be made during the playoffs for example Crawford to Winnipeg for trouba + copp or lowery.

Maybe Stan was closer to trading TVR at the deadline than we knew and he needed that extra Dman on the roster for the expansion draft. Low cost, low risk move. No complaints from me on that one.

Completely different series. No sense shedding any light on it. The Hawks played a horrible series. The Preds played a great series. The end.

I think the Predators should win this series but one thing you can count on is that Harry Z and Austin Watson won't be skating around as if they were Stone Cold Steve Austin and Ric Flair. The Blues will push back physically. And those Nashville defenceman who thought they were playing a non contact league team are going to get introduced to the playoffs.

yep i agree...

preds in transition are very tough...they are better skaters than the blues..

i think the blows will challenge rinne and allen will continue to play well...

blows in 6.. and FWIW

Interesting to feel into how different this season felt versus last season.

Last year the series with the Blues went 7 and the Blackhawks outscored them for the series. I thought at the time (still do) that if they had picked up a top 4 D-man at the TDL they could have made a deep run into the playoffs.

This year the playoffs were brutal. A top to bottom failure. Most notably, t's a failure of the plan to overpay the core and fill in with cheap veterans and cheap young guys.

I wonder which players are on the downside of their prime and which were playing with injuries from which they can recover and regain some of their old selves.

But mostly, I hope this is a wake up call to try a new approach. This roster needs more NHL level ability - speed, size, skill.

I had a good 1st round with predictions but not a strong feel here....I do like the Ducks a lot.
