My point is. He's going to go exactly where he wants. The NJ thing isn't really a factor considering he can wait one year and go where he wants.

And I'm not sure there is a team that can afford to take both.

Ok or he can wait another year be another year older possibly get injured maybe have a season nowhere near this one(his best one there) he seems to have run his course there as well.. he just watched Radulov come over and do very well. Friedman doesn't just report things either.. he wouldn't bring it up and he didn't mention him waiting a year at all he made it sound like he's all but done and he's coming back this summer since his contract is done in Russia. It will be interesting but it seems like he's coming back and I'd be very surprised if devils move him for a B prospect. They should get a good return for him after the season he had there. Hopefully not the leafs

I just can't see it. In a salary cap world not many teams can sign a guy from the KHL for a ton of money.

Unless a team offers him a long term contract....which I don't see happening because I don't think any NHL GM can be that stupid.

The Leafs and Oilers are the only teams who can give him a poop ton of money for a one year contact and offer him playoff hockey at the same time. Who knows maybe he dosnt give a (frank) about winning. Well then welcome to Vegas.

One thing is for sure. I don't think any GM is stupid enough to give up much for a KHL player they can sign a year later.

Obviously happy times here this evening.

Montreal will get the happiness payback tomorrow I think

(sorry to the good guys in the Habs fan base)

I'm sure they'll both be fine after some poutine and a couple smokes.

It's a new day.

A one year contract would be a low risk high reward.

Kovachuk would be sweet on the leafs for a year. He could be like hossa for the hawks a couple years ago with out a poopty contract.

And good day yesterday, hopefully it continues today.

Fire Julien? Go get a good systems guy like Therrien, or perhaps a great playoff motivator like Boudreau? Sign Radulov for 6 years 5.5 million

Was a good day for the bracket yesterday... Called all three series bang on the money, so am now 6/6 with 4 perfect guesses

Now, I just need Boston to pull through...

The hit was pretty borderline. There is zero doubt that Ovechkin went down like a little female dog and milked it. He was never injured. I am surprised anyone thought he was.

The penalty was fine, except call all the charging by the caps and the hit cut open Komarov.

Whoa, that is pretty damn good.

I had some flames, Some Wild and Patrick Kane first overall in my playoff (draft) pool. I have won 3 years in a row so I was due to give some money back to the guys. Ottawa and Washington are still going with for me but somehow, some guy has the top penguins and is going to run away with it.

Ovie is a baby. He runs around charging guys all over the ice. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Beauty hit by Kadri!

Be better for Montreal than if they sign him to a ridiculous contract. As usual, the term will be the problem. By all accounts he wants to stay in Montreal. It really comes down to what is out there.

My guess is they get him locked up for 4 years 5.5.

Interesting that, at the worst, Toronto will match the Habs playoff performance. Considering we weren't supposed to make the dance at all while the Habs were expected to go deep, that really says something about how far the Leafs have come in a year.

It also says a lot about the habs. Where would they be without Price? Most of there forwards are 3 or 4th line players at best... Markov is almost done and soon Weber will be slow and an awful contract. They also have no elite prospects. They need to rebuild properly... don't wait like we did, or like Vancouver has. Just rip the band-aid off fast, get it over with...
