Hey! Welcome to Purgatory. You're gonna love it here. We've been here for 5 years now and I couldn't be happier. Missing the playoffs, deeming first round exits a successful season, hoping your team drafts a certain player then watching him get taken 5 spots earlier. It's really great. Really really great. So great.

Ohhh sorry to offend pie.

Montreal played great all series, just got unlucky!!! They'll get 'er next time!

They didn't play well enough to win. Everyone should freak out and burn everything to the ground.

so the night I got hurt, the rink took my gear bag and kept it on the side along with my stick.

a few days later mrs. dt went to the rink to get my gear and my car which had stayed in the parking lot. She was accompanied by her brother so she could drive my car back home.

It's worth mentioning here that she HATES driving my car and since her and her brother will usually find the absolutely most complicated way of getting anything done, I can only assume that it never even crossed their minds to have him drive the truck back and her his car since it would have been too simple.

anyway the phone conversation went like this when she called me from the rink in her usual state of panic

(all the bro-in-law comments are just screaming in the background)

dt: hello

mrs. dt: OMG OMG OK WHICH STICK IS IT?!?!? OMG OMG

dt: it's a black and white Easton S19 with an Aucoin curve.

mrs. dt: OMG A WHAT?!?!!? WHAT COLOUR?!?!?!

dt: black Easton S19 with an Aucoin curve.

bro-in-law: NO WORRIES I'LL FIND IT NO WORRIES!!!!!!!!

dt: you found it?

mrs. dt: OMG RELAX THERE'S LIKE A MILLION STICKS HERE OMG OMG OMG

dt: ok ok

bro-in-law: DON'T WORRY DAN NO PROBLEM WE GOT IT

...

bro-in-law: WHAT'S THE CURVE AGAIN!?!?!?!?

dt: Aucoin

mrs. dt: WHO?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?!? WHAT'S THAT?!?!?!?

dt: the curve... just tell your brother it's the curve it's written at the top

bro-in-law: NO WORRIES DAN I GOT THIS NO WORRIES.

anyway this went on for like 10 minutes until I didn't really want the stick anymore but a couple of weeks ago when I was finally able to move around again I looked in the back of the truck and pulled out a black and white S19, about a foot too short with a zetterberg curve.

last week I had to go back to that rink for my kid so I brought it back and asked if they had another one. they looked around and couldn't find it.

the lady from the rink took my name down in this old notepad and said they'd call if they found it which I interpreted as meaning dude your stick is gone get lost. I left the other one there since it was useless.

anyway to my surprise, two days later the lady calls back and says yeah we found your stick next time you;re here this is where I'll leave it.

last thursday I was there again and a guy I know who works there walks up and says hey your stick is still here and he gave it back to me.

if whatever happened to you happens to me (surprised it hasn't), i will just buy new stuff because whatever is left behind will most likely be stolen( pro-shop guy) and sold to a used equipment place. nice that the rink was cooperative with you and actually helped out. i would have taken the other s19 bro

the only casualties were:

a skate lace which the ambulance guy cut to remove my skate (that was pretty unpleasant by the way)

a sock (flyers colours)

my hockey pants which had to be replaced anyway.

Well it is getting pretty tiresome to watch a 1st or 2nd Rd exit every year.

I get the frustration but I thought this year was better than last. Some good adds to the roster. There's some positives but apparently its more important to stress the negative....oh and trade Price

I just didn't see a ton of positives in this series aside from Lehkonen stepping up. I think Gallagher had a good series but no point production. Radulove looked good but who knows if he's back.

Price played well but I still think he was outplayed by Lundqvist.

defense was a mess under a strong forecheck.

forwards didn't score

Well people don't want to trade price, but with his contract situation, it has to be an option. It's possible he walks out the door for nothing next July if he doesn't want to resign in Montreal.

I agree. I would add that Pleks finally showed some stones in the POs. The offense far outweighed the Price vs Lundqvist thing as a concern. Hopefully it gets addressed and Radulov gets a good deal.

Radulov is going to the highest bidder. Not sure if the Habs have the cap space if they want to resign price and patches.

yes the offense has been the main concern all season. The one piece that was brought in actually helped but the rest was a mess.

when it get sto the point where you're inserting Brian Flynn in the lineup to get more offense than you get from Mitchell you know you're in a world of trouble.

Beaulieu was a mess, Jordie Benn turned back into Jordie Benn and Petry had a decent series but I think he took shooting lessons from Craig RIvet "aim for the oopponent's shinpads"
