I agree with Gump. Wild had a better regular season (record breaking), better team and better coach. In the series the Wild probably had the better of most stats except the one that counts and that's goals. However it's not stats and paper that wins a playoff series its determination and intangibles. Just like Nashville the Blues were hungrier and more determined. One could argue that both Chicago and Minnesota were buoyed too much by their regular season success

Disagree about the coach. I thought Boudreau showed himself to be completely clueless and classless to the end.
Blues have been in the opposite position before, the higher seed with the shinier regular season resume and been bounced by a lower seed.
Mike Yeo never said much about playing against his former team, never made it about himself and handled himself with complete class. I was never really thrilled with his hire, and i don't know how he will do long term, but I've been incredibly impressed by him since taking over.
Just goes to show it matters not one whit where you finish 1-8. It's who is playing better when the playoffs start and who wants it more. Seeding doesn't always tell the story about how close these teams are in overall talent.
The Wild can spend the rest of the summer talking about superior they were and how much the outplayed the Blues. I don't think their fans are buying it. They got beat and they know it.
