That link states my point. Prospects are just prospects. Until you see them produce at the NHL level, it doesn't really mean anything.

I disagree that the Flyers have to try it this way. Being aggressive in FA and the trade market can work if you avoid the JVR, Bryz, A-Mac type transactions. Being competent isn't really a lot to ask for.

Tampa #1 on that list is a funny team though. Knowing Tampa they will win the draft lottery and go to the Cup finals next year

They would have easily made the playoffs this year had Stamkos not missed 3/4 of the season.

I haven't read much about the draft yet, by all accounts it isn't very deep. What type of prospect projects at the 13 range? A fringe guy 4-5 years away?

Rags and their 35 year old goaltender thoroughly outplay the Habs and Price.

Phantoms blowing 2 goal third period leads, and having players drop like flies due to injury. Yup, they are a chip off the old block. The song remains the same.

Maybe in game 6, but the Habs were the better team for long stretches of the series and they easily could have won game 5. It's a shame because I fear NY is going to get bounced again fairly easily by the Pens like last year.

That's ok, as much as I hate the Pens, comparing my hate for the Pens to my hate for the Rags is like comparing a m-80 to an atomic bomb.

(frank) THE RANGERS!!!

Fine by me. I'd rather the Penguins keep winning then see the Rags in the SCF.
I'd be fine with any of the Western Conf. teams winning except Anaheim. Not a fan of Perry and Getzlaf. Those guys are uber douches.

Oilers, Preds, Blues would be great.
I'd be fine with the Caps, and Sens as well.

I understand the dislike for the Rangers historically, much in the same way I can't stand the Devils thanks to Scott Stevens and those 90s teams, but there's something about the rivalry with us and them that makes me hope for a NYR upset.

John Stevens to be named Kings head coach tomorrow.

The only thing worse would be replacing a Cup winning coach with Ba Ba Face Punch.

I don't disagree with you. Let's hope neither of them get to the SCF.

That should be the plan and the reason they spent many of there draft picks on d-men. Spend their limited cap space to improve the forward positions.

I would blow the rest of the $$$ on bishop for 3 years...Not sure if any team would give him more term with his recent injury history. Maybe Calgary but the trend is to dial back on term with ufa's

He wont block any kids. If kids get ready earlier than anticipated...trade bishop with salary retention kids will be on EL deals

You can't replicate this experience the phantoms rookies are getting...watching a team full of cobbled together career AHL'ers about to be swept out of the playoffs from the pressbox. Flyers are flying in their prospects from all over the world

Agreed. The best first round series have been NYR v MTL and TOR v WSH. Teams not in the same division. Should go back to the old system of seeding and reseeding. It makes the regular season worth more AND expands the rivalry base. The two nastiest rivalries the Flyers had in the early 2000s were with OTT and TOR . . . . in no small part due to playoff series against them. Same with the nastiest of all: COL v DET. Those rivalries were not "natural" rivalries. They developed on the ice, in the playoffs.
