Who would would you offersheet, how much and why?

Edit: mine is Pasternak 6x 6mil and Drouin same. Both teams have cap issues, both players are worth the picks.

It'll be impossible to replace Tanev, but getting rid of Edler would be addition by subtraction no matter who takes his mins.

Juolevi will be top pairing next season so they can afford to lose both.

This site has changed significantly. The other day I stated that I would ask Makita to permanently ban me if people felt I was a problem in here.
I received ZERO complaints, either in the comments section or by PM, so now I challenge other posters to do the same.
Maybe that way we can get this site back to where it was and the reason why I wanted to join what was an enjoyable fun site to visit.

Edit: Hope I am not in violation of any rules with this comment

The average IQ of posters in here is declining just as hard as the Canucks did after 2011. I'd recommend just ignoring posters who you feel just aren't worth the time because they don't understand how the NHL works, player values, will refuse to admit they were wrong about a player or team, etc.

I would look at offers heating Draisaitl. Not too get him but in hopes of offer sheeting McDavid right out of Oilers price range the following season.(McDavid at 10 million per 7 years).

Benning doesn't strike me as the offer sheet type of guy, Gillis was more of that type, personality-wise.

No RFA's this year... Waste of resources at this point in the rebuild IMO.

Seems like htere is a some kind of gentleman's agreement on not offering them. I'm surprised more don't try, this year I'd back the truck up for kuznetzov, drouin, Pasternak. I'd do it if I was the GM of Calgary/ Toronto or Montreal too.

These guys are 22 and proven to be top-line players. I'd like to have at least one 1st line calibre player in Vancouver next year. I'm all for drafting/building, but these are the exceptions IMO.

With all the talk about trading Edler and Tanev, what do you replace them with? Remember, there is probably a good chance we lose Sbisa in the expansion draft.
- Kaynine

You are right. Probably a wait and see by entry draft after the expansion draft dust settles down on player movement. There are no replacements really in our system for Edler or Tanev.

But Nuck choices on the singed players come down to OJ and Biega. Subban big question mark. Pedan too and needs to be singed. Then there are all the new D from junior that can play in AHL now.

So if they trade a vet D, do they try to sign a vet UFA (little there lots of teams need), or take the raw players in the system?

Love the idea, kind of agree with Nucker that JB wont do it based on some kind of principles... I'd go for the throat for McJesus, I'm with ya. 8x11

I'd add that type of piece once we know how the rebuild is unfolding asset wise & it could catapult us into the playoff picture... Not when we're on the verge of 3 or 4 painful years.

Another harebrained sceme: We take Seabrook's contract on, in exchange for Tanev. We get their next two firsts or their first this year and one of their nice young pieces (panik, Schmaltz, hartman)

Take on seabrook and kruger's brutal overpayment, for similar package of picks and we give Tanev back.

I'm all about a cap-relief tarde with LA or CHicago to get another first

I agree that were bad for a while, but it should be 'all-in' on getting 23 year old and under top-6 elite players. The draft gives you these potentially, a signing like this is a guarantee (barring injury)

There could be because trades are so scarce now GM's don't want to risk pissing off other teams.

But hey who knows what Vegas does with RFA's cause they have all the cap space and will be in a taking mood.

Many options there on deals. Maybe Nucks join in on a multi-team movement. The scenarios could be staggering if dominoes start to fall.

LA and Chicago are looking to move cap, this is just a fact. If we all agree this team is going to suck for at least three years. I don't see the harm in taking one of these bad contracts on in exchange for a 1st and prospect kind of trade. Vegas will be a likely trade target for this.

I wouldn't trade Tanev for Seabrook straight up

Edit: in before I get told that every player on the team isn't good because the team finished 2nd-last.
