it helps but it's not make or break. it's not like Pacioretty or Subban came up with the 76 Canadiens. you draft good players, develop them properly and they'll contribute. - DoubleDown

I'm tired Pete. It's the same old same old with this team, I just don't see them as contenders, and I don't see them make the leap forward to one in the near future, at least not with what they have now. People are talking about a "window of opportunity"...I don't see it. Not with Danault as the number one center.
They have glaring holes that haven't been filled. They failed to address clear needs on this team that aren't new, they have been known for a while now. I don't care if trades are hard. Just do the (frank)ing job.
They also can't draft and develop properly. Lehkonen is the sole bright spot, and he was developed in Sweden, outside the organization (thank God). - stinger67
Well if it makes you feel any better, there's 29 teams that won't win the cup this year, and 30 next year!
Enjoy the ride! |

i think Montreal specifically has built themselves to excel in those types of games (2-1), not the higher scoring games. they've got some decent offensive players but they're never going to consistently score 3 goals in the playoffs. but they have the capability to shut teams down. - DoubleDown
totally agree.
and we've seen the results over the past 20 years. |

i thought the Rangers were far better last night than they were in game 2. - DoubleDown
I mean in game 2 I thought Rangers were good for the 1st two periods and then the Habs just killed em in the 3rd and OT.
Last night the Habs were really good 1st 2 periods then seemed to run out of gas the 3rd and OT. |

Tired of trying to explain to my nephews why the Habs never make it far in the playoffs while Pittsburgh are so good, Pete.

Tell them that the league did Mario a favour for all his years of service and gifted him Crosby.
There's rumours out there that Calgary had that pick.. |

NYR fans feel your pain. For years our "top" scorers don't finish in the playoffs. Nash for years couldn't score to save his life. Finally, he's seems to have fouind the touch. THis year, Kreider, Hayes, and Miller cant hit broad side of barn.
Gallager is such a d*ck, but would love him on the NYR. Great series |
