That's some weird sh*t:

Search For Truth

The minute you believe you have it all figured out or are doing everything you need to operate at your highest potential, is the minute you are quickly sliding back down a slippery slope. Hence why the continual search for greater understanding and refinement is so important. We often think of truth along the lines of black and white; right and wrong. When in actual fact truth transcends definitive lines, boundaries and “absolutes”. Because when it is truth, it is universal; at minimum a kernel of it found in all manner of seemingly contradictory explanations and expression. When genuinely seeking, we are in a process of drawing that truth together into an evermore cohesive framework through which to engage our training, and every aspect of it, more honestly.

Sounds like a stream of semi-consciousness ... or just quackery. I'd go with the latter after I saw they reportedly have ingredients that affect dopamine

kadri with a dirty roll block on ovie...should have been thrown out; ovie returned to start the 2nd

- bogiedoc

No point on the rookies - that's Toronto's team - lots of rookies, several top10 picks.

Kadri's hit looked like a good legal hip check - as Jones said, no extended knee. Dangerous hit, but legal under current rules.

Maybe Bowman can tell us how great the signing of #7 to a seven year deal was? Or how great the signing of #16 was? Or how great the 3rd rd pick for Tomas Jurco was?

Bowmans need to go!

You had a solid, initial argument in your first page post. This one? It is completely laughable. This is one series. And Johansen has but a tiny fraction of a resume' of Toews. You really missed on this one. Badly. Ask all 29 other GM's, including yours: Who would you want, Ryan Johansen or Jonathan Toews? Wow.
- blackhawk24

I saw Ryan Johansen's work in Columbus...and saw why they traded him. He had a terrific series in effective, structured system. Too soon to put him in for any NHL awards

You mean the guy who was able to spend money and make moves without ever worrying about a cap?

I'm not sure we want to analyze and criticize the contracts he's given for value.

The draft will be interesting for sure. Curious to see if any big trades involve Chicago.

Ottawa and BOS a good series.

Toronto's rookies are stepping up. Babcock's guys make mistakes but still plays them, something to admire, especially in the playoffs.

But Dale was a real hockey man not a bean counter!!! I liked Dale but the revisionist history about his spotless record is laughable.

Bowman's made his fair share of mistakes but imagine if he had two starting goalies signed at the same time to the tune of $11M+ after finding out he couldn't deal one like he anticipated so he's stuck with them both.

Then the second goalie who becomes the starter suffers a crisis of confidence and becomes an overpaid netminder whose contract eventually needs to be buried in the Swiss league.,

Or if he signed a bunch of stiffs like Aucoin, Cullimore and Brown anticipating that the league would zig when it zagged.

Or using high 1st round draft selections on the likes of Barker, Skille and Beach.

The difference between winning the cup and losing in the first round is not that great. Remember in successful cup runs the Hawks struggled in the first round and then got better as they advanced round by round.

The Hawks were swept. They were out played for a good amount of the time. But if Crawford makes one save in game one and another in overtime of game 3 we could have been tied 2-2 coming home for game 5.

Luckily the Hawks have experienced level headed pros running the team and they will not act like reactionary bloggers and posters and arm chair GM's who have no idea what the real options/opportunities are.

After the Hawks overtook the Wild for 1st place in the West with about 3 weeks left in the season this site was agog trying to see who would be the likely matchup for the Hawks in the Stanley Cup Final. Now most are hysterical.

The Hawks had to cut their teeth playing the Wings, then they had a breakthrough. The Preds have a been a very good team for a few seasons, now they had a break through. Can they continue to the Cup? We will see.

Will the Hawks float near, but not at, the top like the Wings did for the last several years (before this season), and then fall to the bottom. Maybe.

The Hawks will look different next year. One or two core players will not be back. Campbell and Oduya probably will not be back. I would expect Kempny, Forsling, Hayden, Hartman, Schmaltz to get bigger roles. We could see some youngsters like Debrincat, Fortin, Shalunov, Motte, Johansson, Pokka get an opportunity. Bowman will try to make a surprise FA signing.

I am disappointed the way the season ended. Everyone would have to consider it an epic failure. But for 5 months is was pretty exciting to be a Hawks fan, like it has been for the last 8 years. I will withhold judgment on our future until personnel decisions are made throughout the Summer.

In the meantime I will cheer for the Preds. They play the game the right way and it would be great for a city like Nashville to hoist the Cup.

THIS

The folks stating that the Cup "run" is over or that the sky is falling are laughable. Yes. The team will look different. Yes. The team probably will trade a player or two from the core. Why? You have to resign Panarin and they need to clear long-term cap space to do so.

You're not going to trade Seabrook w/o eating a ton of his salary and not getting much back. That leaves you with the potential to trade Crawford & resign Darling and save yourself about $3 mil a year and get a few quality assets back in return.

ok..i thought a comparison to the hawk rookies was your point...

was not a hip check as normally delivered...he low bridged him with the front of his body first...

and honestly when do jones and milbury identify anything as cheap and dirty; given their playing days everthing is just ole time "good" hockey.

i will say the leafs are giving the "great" caps everything they can handle with another OT; honestly its great to see teams like the oil and leafs rise up

if the leafs win this OT...look out..ovie might be on his way with kane to worlds in about 3 days...

panarin is extended; interesting his play turned south after signing: plus bonus he will cost the hawks almost 8 mil in cap...

21 mil for toews and kane + 8 mil for Panerin + 7 mil for seab = 50% of your cap $$ on 4 players...

will see how bowman pulls salary cap rabbits out of his hat this summer...

your math may not be quite right: craw at 6 mil + darling at 600k = 6.6 mil
darling may fetch more than 3 mil and then they need a backup for less than a mil; saving might only be 2 - 2.5 mil = panarins bonus

And Boston took two bad penalties late in the 3rd - DOG and TMM - killed them both to get it to OT.

Except for the one we were most interested in, this has been a very good tournament - good action, lots of OT games....

Despite the numerous Leafs' fan trolls on this website, I'm rooting for that young Toronto squad. Matthews is an extraordinary player and will only add muscle to that huge frame. 6'3" 215lbs at 18 years old and unbelievable combination of skill + hockey IQ

That kid is something else. I'd take him over McDavid, frankly. Might not be as skilled or fast, but I think he can tilt games in your team's favor more.

Can't go wrong with either but Matthews can play in the crease and scores as many goals in the dirty areas as he does off the rush or sniping from the perimeter....while McDavid is just absolutely blazing speed and a pass-first finesse player. Matthews is also an American born player so he's already one of my favorite players. Leafs need another Dman and have a surplus of young Top 6 Forward talent so maybe they are a trading partner for Bowman this summer....

Babcock is going to turn Mathews into a much more offensively gifted version of Anzi Kopitar, Henrik Zetterburg and Eric Staal combined. The kid can really find the range in tight almost like no other player in the league.

And then he will be making $12M/season because he's worth it and the Leafs will be tight against the cap just like Edmonton will be when McDavid and Draisatl get new paper.

Uncle Lou might give the thumbs up for that and then he could bring back Ilya Kovalchuk to form a great October 1 - March 31 line.

How about this, at least as a starting point?
To Philly: Crawford

To Chicago: one of Robert Hagg, Samuel Morin or Travis Sanheim and either a 2nd or 3rd round pick

that drunk got booted from the Russian National Team! Kadri crosses the line sometimes, but he is a scrappy pest and has become a very solid #2C after Babcock got behind the Leafs bench. IF for some reason Bowman is looking to trade Seabrook (50, 16, and 15 should be the first choices IMO), the Leafs would be a good trade partner.

EDIT: Stan is gunna sign Datsyuk for 1 year @ $1mil!!

Babcock has never really thought that highly of Seabrook so I doubt that's going to happen and they are committed contractually to Anderson in goal.

I've never really liked Kadri but have to admit Babcock has made him into a player with a nasty edge and he puts the puck in the net too. Just not sure you would get the same guy in a Hawks jersey.

Fans really are excited about the Leafs and how they play. But the team I think is potentially almost as good is Buffalo. If you look down their roster and consider how many games lost to injury they had this year, the Sabres are a sneaky very good sleeper team on the rise. Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Ennis, Girgensons, Jake McCabe and my absolute favourite Risto Ristolainen on D.

They just got rid of that idiot coach Bylsma and if they can bring in a top notch replacement you will see that team take off.
