Really? good for you. I have never been impressed with Nashville so I was surprised. I don't know if Nashville was amazing or Chicago has regressed. Either way, nice to see the Hawks embarrassed!
- CanuckDon

They were one of the hottest teams along with the ducks going in to the playoffs.. Those hot teams always seem to make some noise in the post season. I actually thought they would have been a top 2 team in the west before the season started. Was shocked at the terrible start they had.

My other picks arent looking to good

Caps in 5
SJ in 6
Habs in 6
Sens in 6
Preds in 6
Jackets in 7
STL in 6
Ducks in 6

When we pick 5th I would like anyone of Glass Necas or Rasmussen. I know Rasmussen is not liked as a choice here but after following him all season (on Internet reports) he sounds like a player who plays hard every shift, drives hard to the net and adds much needed size to the prospect pool.
With CBJ 2nd or our 3rd I would like Eemilii Rasanen another large defenseman to replace the one we just lost.
Mason Shaw, Booner's boy, would also be a nice addition, plays with sandpaper and has skill.

Vilardi, Glass, Middlestat. Any one of those that are remaining if we get 5th. Rasmussen is trash

Very nice to see.

I had a Habs-NSH final picked here at seasons start for my pool plus I have the same SCF picked for my bracket challenge...Habs need to pick up their game though now if they want to see the 2nd rd.

Rasmussen would be a very poor selection in the top 5. He is a complimentary piece, not a play driver.

Might eat my words in a year or two but I wouldn't take him in the first round unless it was super late.

I think 12-15 range is where he should and will go. probably projects as 3rd line center or top 6 LW who could play with a set up type center.

I would prefer a safe pick at 5 like Glass (Vilardi if available) I just think he is going to be a good player. Find out in 5 years I guess.
Can't afford another gamble like Virtanen, although I haven't given up on him. Will give him another 2 seasons

Nico is who we need. He is clearly the top player in this draft. We need a miracle.

I don't know about Glass...he could be a 3rd line center. We need a player with a high ceiling. If anything, the Virtanen pick illustrates we should be going for high end skill....Ehlers, Nylander, Larkin etc. Makar, Mittelstad, Nico, and Necas all have high end potential. I am ok with Patrick and Vilardi as well as they should be top 6 forwards. Heiskanen should also be considered if we slip to number 5.

1st, 2nd, 4th or 5th.
The 3rd belongs to Vegas.

- Marwood

I'm pretty sure that Vegas just has the 3rd best % in the 1st round. They have the 3rd spot in every other round though.

Am I wrong?

I wouldn't be to surprised if we don't get top 3 that we trade down to 7 or a bit later for anther teams 1st and 2nd. A team like Colorado badly needs defense and could use Foote in their system, as they already have an offensive defenseman in Barrie and don't want to miss out on him. Just my opinion.

Edit: no one seemed to dislike Glass at 5th, so I assume we are all okay with him.

Heskainen is another small defenseman like Stecher and Subban. I still think the 2 best defenseman in this draft are Valimaki and Foote.
