Had the potential for so much more development among other players it feels like. Really unfortunate, but Provorov was fantastic. - YuenglingJagr
At times, Provorov was the sole reason that I was enjoying watching their games.

Yeah, the only real success for the Flyers in 16-17 was the development and emergence of Provorov as a legit top pair Dman. - BiggE
- Jordan Weal proving he can play in the NHL
- The end of the Schultz and VDV eras (hopefully)
- Filppula filling our 2/3C need without overpaying for years in UFA
- Stolarz proving he's at least a capable backup
I got nothin else. |

Johnson, somewhat like Bernier has had his struggles with consistency. He'd be in the running for my 6th spot though. The fact that Bernier is a bit younger, and, when he's on, a little better, gives him the edge in my book.
OTOH, Johnson certainly wouldn't cost too much nor would you need to offer more than 2 years. It really is a buyers market when it comes to goalies this year, IMO. - BiggE
The most frustrating thing about the Neuvirth contract is what the value means. I do think it means he is the starter, but almost guarantees a starter split again. It is stupid.
and btw...for me
1. Mason
2. Halak
3. Darling
4. Bernier
5. Bishop
6. Nilsson
7. Miller
8. Johnson
9. Budaj
10. Elliott |

Yeah, I didn't even bother with Mason, because unless Neuvirth is taken by Vegas, there is no chance he's coming back. Halak is another guy who can just be so inconsistent at times, that scares me, and it's reason I don't have Bernier as high as you. However, be it Darling, Nilsson, Bishop (3 yrs or less), Miller or Bernier, I'd be fine with it. And, since they really aren't anywhere near contending yet, I could live with Halak or Johnson on a 2 year deal or less. Really want no part of Budaj or Elliot.

You know what? If MAF waived to go to Vegas and they took him and traded him to us, as long as we aren't giving up one of our top prospects, I'm ok with that. When MAF is on, he's pretty damned good and you know he'd be damned motivated to show the Pens up.

It would be difficult for me to get past the woooing, the lame nickname, and the skate to the corner. Unless we got a nice kickback for taking on that salary there is no way I want him. |

Budaj I figure might fit into that NHL/AHL type role that could be necessary. His very good year makes it feel like regression is imminent though.
I think the consistency thing is super overblown. They are all inconsistent. Halak has a year left on his deal, and to be clear, some of my love for him comes from my thinking that we would be doing Snow a favor by getting rid of him. The Bernier/Hextall/Dillabaugh thing could have merit.
Side note: I am willing to bet something that there wont be a single goalie that gets signed as a UFA for more than 3 years |

Giroux's confidence is likely the lowest it's ever been in his career right now. Is a chance to end the season on a high note not worth taking? - Baxter27

This is by far the dumbest tournament in hockey right after high school/middle school Christmas Tournaments. |
