I think if he had someone lined up, it would have been leaked by now. Things tend to leak under Pegula.

That's a fair assessment, but we didn't hear anything at all about Murray getting canned

Anyone think T-Pegs might announce a replacement today? I just can't see him having a press conference to take questions from the morons at the Buffalo News.
- Frizzlefry

For some strange reason i feel that Russ Brandon is going to do most of the talking.

Rod Brind'amour for president and Brett Hull for GM. Or vice versa.

Howard Simon is the voice of reason. Who would have thought ?

Yesterday Schoop was slobbering all over Murray.

Honestly though, would anyone be surprised if someone like Perreault was brought in as president or in some sort of role?

All I really heard him say was that he preferred his "go for it" style in trades over what Darcy Regier did: which was wait for prospects to develop.

The truth is, there is a happy medium somewhere (see Poile, David, although he has yet to get near a championship), and neither of them were it.

I would be as depressed as the day the Bills brought in Marv Levy to run things.

For entertainment purposes Murray was great, and Regier was about as exciting as a root canal

He was, but you're not putting it into context. He said that he wil miss GM because he will miss talking to him. I enjoyed listening to him, although towards the end I was cringing for him being too honest. I doubt we will ever see the likes of someone like that again.

Yes, everyone would be. He is about as qualified to run a team as I am.

Eh I disagree a little on this. Yea that is part of it, but a caller said Murray did nothing to make this team better. and Schoop and BD jumped all over the guy saying look at the trades he made.

Yes, which is correct. But he didn't say they were good or bad moves. He pointed out that Murray did a LOT over three years to change the team (which is correct). He has been extremely critical of several of Murray's moves.

i didnt think it would tbh. As far as ice time and best shot at a pay day, we're still his best option.

Well this is good news.

As for the press conference, don't be surprised if the New President of Operations is alongside Terry. First of all, Terry is not comfortable about these things and doing it alone isn't ideal for him. Rumor is, Terry has been working behind the scenes to get a President of Operations in place, and when GMTM was told of this, he wasn't thrilled. Part of the reason for his dismissal, The state or Rochester was also big. The Toronto Marlies have been good for years and it helped their kids learn how to win. Rochester sucking ahs been good for now one. We sat all year with 43 or 44 organizational contracts, would have been good to add 3-4 more proven veterans in Rochester to provide stability.

I get why radio guys would like Murray, he *was* (feels good to say was) entertaining.

But Simon did a good job of breaking down his moves today and basically said, why wouldn't he have been fired

Moulson deal
Ennis deal
acquiring Bogo
Fasching deal
2014 draft
Kulikov
Not doing a single thing all year

It would be reasonable to be given another year, but the firing is totally defensible

The league can shove it. Sabres should hire whomever they want and not listen to what the league says.

Oh I agree.
He had a GM's wet dream. and both teams are near last place.
Add in Rochester being complete S***

I still have not give up hope on Fasching, but he is in prove it this year.
