Maybe Pegula was on the fence about bringing back Bylsma and Murray wanted him gone. I don't think he ever wanted him here in the first place.

Edit: He being Murray. Bylsma was very likely a Pegula hire.

That's (frank)ed up if your owner is hiring the coach instead of the GM.

If the thing that they're saying is true about Tim Murray leaking the jack eichel thing I think he got what he deserved

I'm not so sure it matters
Whoever gets hired should have scouting reports on all these guys, right?

Serious? Why would he do that?
- Matthews_Auston

Perhaps leak it out to put pressure on the Pegulas to keep Bylsma for now to avoid making it look like Eichel runs the team and is a coach killer if they fired him the next day.

I'm guessing he told someone after their exit meeting and that person open their mouth thus giving it to Paul Hamilton

Dude... with all due respect...
YOU are the one "dismissing the evidence"
I'm asking you to include more data!!!

I'll work with these stats you've given,
Bc it tells more of the story...

Now, if what you're saying is correct...
that Nashville sat back once they had the lead...
then one would assume they'd play looser & looser with a bigger lead
BUT THAT DIDNT HAPPEN
according to those stats...
Nashville sat back MORE with a 1 goal lead than they did with a 2 goal lead
HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?

Chicago should have their best differential when down the most

What I'm saying is that teams don't sit back with 1 or 2 goal leads...
not in the playoffs

So imo, that stats that matter aren't ONLY when it's tied
But also when it's CLOSE

According to your stats above,
Chicago was -19 "when it mattered" (so to speak)

That's a 6 shot differential per game

Why I'm also saying is that MORE than the 6 shot differential...
which I believe didn't include when Chicago was winning 1-0 & 2-0...
(I'd like to know those stats though, Bc I bet it's even closer for me)

Is that the DRASTIC difference in save % is what really told the story

- jdfitz77

Because they only trailed by 2 for 8 minutes. It's a small sample. 61 minutes is a full games sample. 51 minutes is almost a full game.

Also it's amazing I'm accused of cherry picking. You are listing 1 thing. Save %.

I notice you already forgot that Nashville had a ton more scoring chances, which is more work for Crawford, less for Rinne. But you're ignoring that

Any inside info on what set Pegula off to fire 4 of them today - besides the poor results this year?
- SabreWest

Well besides Pegula already pissed about the Bills, trades, non trades, players that were signed, a few things Murray told Pegula when he got hired that he would do but he never did. Our record this year being worse then last year, losing the last few games didn't help either. Pegula is flying blind, I said it before that he can care less about paying people to leave. I'm hoping to find out more tomorrow or over the weekend, my uncle;s friend with the Sabres said " Pegula is turning this into a real S$$T show". I think Pegula felt that Murray was in over his head.

Tell ya what...
if u do the work to provide stats that say all these teams in the playoffs sit back with one goal leads, then I'll give it to you
However,
I don't believe that's true
Not in general, or this particular case

Makes much more sense to me to consider that stats when the game is CLOSE, instead of ONLY when it's tied

Agreed. Pegula is a successful oil businessman. He has no experience owning a professional hockey or football team. It's totally bizarre/wrong for him to be involved in hiring anyone except a Team President for the Sabres or Bills. For him to be involved in GM/Coach hiring is absolutely wrong. Hire somebody that knows their poop and get out of the way. Keep shoveling money off the back of the money truck until one or both of the teams have a championship. Ownership interference in the day to day operations of a sports organization is wrong - see the Harold Ballard years for reference!

I agree 100% with what you're saying but please don't compare Pegula and Ballard. All Ballard ever cared about was making money. I think Pegula wants a winner but can't keep his hands off the hockey ops.

Pegula is a very good business man that is well known however, he is not a very good owner and Jerry Jones he is not. He needs a hockey guy to work with him on the day to day running of the team.

Reason why I think they hire a GM with experience and/or a VP of Hockey Operations with experience and then maybe a first time GM but it won't be just a first time GM again.

Who said "all these teams". We're talking about 1. And I have already said that this was even backed up by the telecast. They repeatedly said that once they took the lead their defense smothered Chicago and played great defensive hockey. That's it. Nashville outclassed them in 4 games.

I think we all would like to see Pegula bring in a Team President first

He seems to be big on Buffalo roots, so...
Dudley, Ruff, bring LaFontaine back if he'd come?

Any of those guys would make sense & be ok with me

I'm not saying we need to bring in a Buffalo guy to run the show,
but those guys are all good options imo

Then let Team President hire the GM,
GM hire the coache(s),
and so on

We need to hire guys with experience across the board this time, hockey guy, GM and Coach. We need to show the NHL that we can move forward in a positive direction so in the future players will want to sign here. They need to do a complete turn around and prove they are legit.

It was many things but there was something that set Pegula off but I haven't found out yet. He's gotta make this next hire (s) count.
