I think that dude is gone for good

For starters. Fix the front office (prez of hockey op, gm, scouts and everything else that goes with it). There is no salary cap for that so go out and get the best. Coach: go after travis green (young , motivated). Draft well and develope. Fix the AHL system then in 2 yrs the sabres will be in the upper class of the east. I know easier said than done but this should have been done 3/4 yrs ago.

Now, who will our coach be and who will our GM be?

-A coach that adapts his system around the players' talent rather than wishfully thinking he has an 09 penguins team at his disposal.
-A coach that won't expect his 3rd and 4th liners to execute the same style of hockey as his 1st liners, as those players have vastly different skill sets and thus should be executing a style of play that maximizes their skill sets.
-A coach that understands that the pieces he has are the pieces of the puzzle he has to work with. You might not like what you have but, you can't jam a piece in the wrong spot and convince everyone it fits (looking at you reinhart at the wing or gionta playing with eichel).
-A coach that can see that his best set of players are open ice guys who use speed and space to create opportunities and have vision and an understanding as to when to shoot the puck when they see said opportunity. Let them create opportunities with their skill sets and turn them loose.

who is this man, I'm not sure, but I think it's time to look for some new blood (AHL, NCAA) and stop giving coaches that have been fired, their 3rd and 4th chances (looking at you bruce boudreau who is working n yet another disappointing playoff exit) to get fired yet again.

Also, I would be behind any coach that can some how bring back arturs irbe for goal tenders coach!
