I would have liked O'Reilly at 6-6.5 but you have to pay dude's like that. They got Kadri by drafting 7th overall in 2009, we wanted a stabilizing guy to lead our younger better guys. We had to pay a little bit to do that. Plus as Reinhart is showing, and kadri showed, guys don't develop overnight, sometimes that's because they're garbage, or they just take longer to cook. I don't hate the O'Reilly move at all. Losing Zadarov might bite us but if we drafted a dman last year in the first round, we might not have missed him too much.

I know you like O'reilly but I don't think a rebuilding club should have sent the young assets away for him when you did. Waiting another year perhaps then go after that kind of talent if you want.

Grigerenko was a first rounder for you guys and got 10 goals (O'reilly got 20), He is younger and cheaper. Zadorov was also someone you chose in the first rnd I beleive. He is young and HUGE D man. Plus you gave up a second rounder. So basically for a rebuilding team you gave up two firsts and a second rounder for a high priced second line center. Not something you do when your rebuilding. Play the kids.

I am not sure where some of this information comes from but I have to believe that who ever said Dan Quinn in in consideration is just guessing and grabbing at straws. What exactly has he done to deserve to be under consideration for the job (other than coach Eichel for 2 years. Look at his record the guy can't win without Eichel. I would love to know the source of that info. Because you know what I heard my MOM was under consideration for the job. You heard it here 1st.

Grigs sucked, and i was a huge fan of his. Zadarov was the player you hated to give up on. One thing is that how do you win in this league? You score goals. Murray fully and imo too much, prioritized scoring forwards, but I also have faith in him to find more and better players on the defense. You can nitpick his choices with kulikov's trade, but also with the expansion draft, you have to wait until this summer. I just think if the Pegulas would give him one more season, he would've wowed us with moves to fix things. Murray is a smart man. I'm just afraid we won't hire another person with as great of a hockey mind. I hope i'm wrong.

Well, to start with his name is David Quinn and his name will be thrown out there by trolls and fan board GM's because of his connection with Jack. Everybody in the know (which is nobody on these boards) insist Jack is not the villain in this scenario. I would guess nobody is ever going to know why Pegula decided to part ways with Bylsma and Murray.
I will say this though, it didn't work out the way Murray hoped it would, but like every other GM who has ever done the job, he did what he believed to be in the best interest of his team and like every other GM who has been fired, he paid for his beliefs by getting let go, so I think the insults and attacks on his person can stop now and you can move on to your next targets.
I also find hilarious that Edmonton fans come on to Sabre blogs and insult our team, when, even after having like a thousand early picks you just now managed to get out of the outhouse. feeling superior must be awesome.
