Just joking, I can't say I was that enthused about him coming back but glad I was wrong.
- B2B76

For me, I just think it was one year of bad play wasn't enough for me to give up on him, given his years of warrior like service for the club. I can be loyal to a fault sometimes, which is also perhaps the same reason that Sam Rosen can botch 10,000 names and I don't care.

I'd settle for smith. They can't let him go, brain farts or two I can deal with. This guys no holds barred I don't give a (frank) attitude was desperately needed here

I want Shatty and Smith, think trading Step is the only way to get that to happen but that's a story for the offseason and hopefully after a parade

if the Habs fail to come back in this series, there should be a major firing in the offseason. No excuses to lose to a team like NYR.

I think part of it is, you do what you can get away with, and this series has been full out prison rules from a refs perspective.
- Pete V

That might be a good thing for us. The penalty kill has been better, but the power play still stinks. I think we're fortunate that the refs are letting almost everything go, because we really don't want to get into a battle of special teams with Montreal.

He almost swallowed his tongue getting ZIB-LAN-A-JAD out of his mouth w that excitement after the game winner.

And I hate to keep picking on Sam, but he made several more mistakes again last night. How about the hoopla over Skeij's 1st NHL playoff goal, only to say, "I;m sorry, it was not HIS 1ST PLAYOFF GOAL"?

- B2B76

Sam is getting old unfortunately. You still have to love him for the love of the team and not in homerish way. He genuinely excited like us with goals like that. Maloney had a Mandingo sized orgasm last night and I can't post it. I think peter21 did last night

Game 7 of that series, Rangers win 2-1 goal scorers, Staal and Giraldi

With step, you just open a gaping hole if he's gone. But def for off-season and he does need to do better

What the hell does that mean?

4th in offense, 12 in defense.

Dont think they are the favorites to win a cup by any stretch, but its not like the team is a bunch of scrubs.

Honestly, and this is just me, but I don't care how bad he screws up a couple of names. It's Sam, and it's going to be a very sad day for me when he retires. There is nobody I like listening to more, perhaps because I grew up listening to him.

And I though the call on the OT winner was gold.

- Pete V

Agreed, and i almost well up thinking about it. I honestly think that him and Micheletti just do not gel and that makes all his mishaps seem worse.

Both him and Oscar are work horses that every team needs.

btw - read somewhere that when Oscar was on the ice 5v5, Rangers had 14 shot attempts for and 0 against. I know it's Corsi bs, but still...

Grabs also is great for that line. Big difference last two games is how NYRs fourth lines' speed overmatches MTLs' fourth line. I think Jan said that adding Glass was good for team toughness, etc, but it took away the speed advantage. W/ Grabs, Lind, and Fast NYR has a great defensive line, who has speeeeeeeed and some scoring touch.

Glass was the right move to start the series. Now that Buch has played well both games, Glass isn't getting back in, unless something unfortunate occurs.

Agreed, allthough Grabs didn't have his best game yesterday imo.
