Saw this in the Leafs thread...

I think last night was really great for him. With Brassard, after a very average regular season, doing his normal thing in the playoffs, he would have started to here a lot of chatter about that. I think that goal totally takes that sort of pressure of him.

You guys remember a Rangers series that has been this nasty? I am sure there has been one, but just can't remember it.

I would say the 2012 1st rd vs the Sens, lot of dirty play & suspensions & injuries from dirty hits & general bad blood. That Sens team had Neil, Smith, Carkner & Konopka. We had Prust & Rupp (did Rupp play much in those playoffs?)

I think the last Montreal was just as nasty, remember the whole Prust hit on Step, the Ottawa series comes to mind as well

Yep, two good ones. Those series had some very nasty moment. I would still give it to this series, because the nastiness is continuous. It hasn't, however, had that Prust-Stepan or Boyle getting punched in the jaw moment yet.

Yeah, the groin spearing notwithstanding, (and when did that become a routine thing in the NHL, anyway?) there hasn't been an over the top violent play... but it's been nonstop stick work and nastiness for 5 straight games.

Top 4 are playing very well right now, and there are three lefties in that mix.

I think Girardi being the only competent right shot on this team right now should mean something.

I am just not sure on Shatty anymore. Yes, he would help the power play, but not sure I wouldn't rather have what Smith brings for $2.0-$2.5 million less.
