I liked GMTM. I liked his bullish attitude. I guess the McPhee favor has expired with GMTM's firing. But, if GMTM was going to fire Disco and have a one more prove it year, there would be no certainty that the next GM would be on board with whoever the Sabres brought in (EDIT: to coach that is.)

I'll miss GMTM's personality tbh. I think this move is about Pegula saying this year - point blank - wasn't acceptable. That's more important than a GM or a coach. So kudos to Pegula. He's writing the checks and he wants tangible results

Well he did a few questionable things for sure,but all g.m.s do!, but I do agree on the depth chart case!Nylander should be hopefully be elite does Lombardi make the grade? The only real problem he made was contracts and that was out of loyalty, but I doubt he does it again?
