He was out of shape. I doubt it had anything to do with their offer.
He was homesick, big baby wanted to go back to mommy.

Trauma was a fan favourite for a reason... maybe that bumhole Sutter picking on Goldy played into it as well.. especially if he's a loud voice in the room. I wonder how much these self appointed leaders did to try and help Trauma settle into life in Vancity...

He might thought why do I need the aggravation... I'll go play in the Olympics and make mad money via the oligarchs in the K....

What a PR nightmare for the Canuck's. Not exactly how you want to approach the off season when one of the pieces Linden say's he want's to "build around" tells the team to FU. Pretty much egg in his face.

The whole management team can take ownership of this epic fail, not just the coach. Kind of why these Ralph Krueger rumors make sense.

- VanHockeyGuy

Hopefully Linden is trying to convince Krueger to take over his job as president.

Yes that's a good way to put it. When players have other options outside of NHL you can't just sit around on that contract offer. Like we said yesterday. Krueger is needed for a lot more on this team. It's about confidence, organization and direction at all levels.

They have a lot of RFA's and no movement. Like why isn't Bo singed already. Could have gone to Worlds. Players don't want to be on a poopty team that will suck for years either. There is much at play here.

FA is looking at big contracts with players when they are not the best on the team like Sedins, LE, and Sutter. But got all the prime time. So there is that. Wonder where this is all going.

I don't think Linden has a clue on how to manage a hockey team. Starts there.

It's the Sedins fault... those guys just give a poop about making the swedes all comfortable... why didn't they take this guy under their wing and help acclimate and feel comfortable in Vancity...

this is a serious gut punch, kick in the head...

Sedins don't speak Russian. Plus they don't give playing time and contracts.

There were a lot of young guys they were trying to mentor this season. But Tree would feel just fine if shown the money and given the green light on playing time.

i'm irritated and agitated that Trauma left and need to find fault and the Sedins with their lack of obvious passion and seeming disinterest in winning are an easy route to take.

Besides Swedes are known to dislike Ruschians.

This looks bad on management, but (frank) him. Not enough ice time? It was his rookie season.

If he doesn't want to be here, then hopefully the door hits him on the way out. The same thing went for Kesler didn't it? He averaged 16:50 a night as a 2nd year pro in the NHL and was whining about ice time. One door closes, another opens for someone else who actually wants to be here.

I really don't think they saw this coming. They probably didn't bring in an interpreter to his exit meeting with management.

Tryamkin;
I'm not happy with the coach or my ice time, I'm signing in the KHL next year.

Linden/JB; Da Da, You Know.

see where you are going there.

Thoughts on Sedins is they aren't moving. Period. They have become Vancouverites like TL. They like to retire and raise their families in Vancouver. Visit Sweden in the summers when it's not so nasty.

As for Edler, LE and Sutter. Maybe. They got years still of NHL play for their careers. So a move can be forced. But see less of one now for Edler if Tree is gone. Unless they can bring Tree in with $ and top four playing time.

But this puts Guddy in a bigger playing role and they may need to lock him up instead of dangle him on a show me contract.

This is an easy out for us to blame management or even WD for Tree leaving but this is on him. If the reports were true that he came to camp out of shape, that's on him. He's a rookie, he needed to prove that he was good enough for a spot. I'm not going to say that he didn't play well but him bolting to the KHL after one season shows his character. This is the NHL, the best league in the world, what did he expect? To play 25min a game, PP time as an unproven rookie?

Van is going to miss him, but feck him!

No one will want to be here if the team is tanked into the ground and youth kept off the roster to favor journeyman vets. Just because you draft someone doesn't mean they will be around forever. Players have more options and avenues on how to develop their careers these days. If they see it will be stifled by a shut the door for years mentality, that the tankers advocate, then this team is doomed.

Jesus.
Enough please.

There's no correlation between the (frank)ing Sedins and Tree.

With Tree gone and Sbisa likely being snatched up via expansion, there goes our so-called "area of strength" lol.

Y'all can but those Edler, Tanev and Hutton trade dreams to bed.

But hey, at-least we still got Gudbranson.....................................
